On the bench as Fresno host Tulsa in the USL.

Not required off the pine, as Fresno draw 2-2, conceding one in 95th min.

Gets a game for Fresno as they host Orange County in US Open Cup.

Finished 2-0 to Fresno after extra time. Brown a yellow.

Played another 90 mins midweek for Fresno in US Soccer Cup. More ET this time in a 2-1 win over Sporting Arizona.

Brown gets a chance to test himself against MLS opposition as Fresno travel to play LAFC in US Open Cup.

“Cory Brown: Vancouver’s 3rd round pick in the draft, Brown managed a respectable 1025 minutes for Fresno. The twenty two year old New Zealander is short for a centre back at 5’9 but weighs 187 pounds. This means that he is so muscular that on the BMI scale he is technically considered obese. This mildly interesting fact aside though, Brown is not a very exiting prospect. His actual stats are pretty bad and he almost certainly will never play for the Whitecaps but Fresno seem to like him so I see no reason to move him.”

I presume this is a fan website. Never a bastion of great spelling.

Also looks like the analysis is based solely on stats, rather than from having watched him play. Definitely a top-quality scouting report.

Been following College football(soccer) there, and the use of stats to get accolades and further progression has been amazing to me and quite ridiculous! 

Not re-signed by Fresno.

Hopefully he can pick up another gig somewhere.

Some extra pro football options are opening up in North America.

Should help likes of Brown and Bevan (if not picked up by Nix or elsewhere), who have been released by their former USL teams.

Should also assist any young Kiwis finishing in the US College scene, get a first pro gig. Wages probably lower than a physician's assistant though!

USL Championship with 7 new franchises joining in (total 36 teams)

USL League One (3rd tier) with some existing USL clubs 'dropping down' (total 10 teams).

Minnesota (M Boxall's side) to have an affiliate USL team (Forward Madison FC) for first time, in this league.

So total 46 professional USL sides, compared to only 33 USL sides last season (32 if you subtract FC Cincinnati who have now been admitted to the MLS).

So an extra 14 pro teams stateside at the USL level.

2. New Canadian Premier League (total 7 teams)

"Canada will witness a new league take its first steps this spring, as the CPL, emphasizing domestic player development, begins play with seven teams, based in Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Hamilton, Langford (British Columbia), Winnipeg and York (Ontario)."

Anyone have any clue what he is up to nowadays? Nix needs a couple CBs, iirc a few people here seemed to rate him before he left to the US. Maybe we should see if he is interested in a trial?

Never heard he was a cod... was a better player than Brotherton IMO, but lacked height which seemed to count against him, not that it seemed to ever really matter on the field.

What is he doing to say fit while he awaits a green card?

Mostly thinking of the time he kicked one of my teammates in the head while he was on the ground.

Still, was years ago, hopefully he's grown up.
