Sonders lose 1-2, and so out of the Danish Cup. Still no Wilkins

Sonders lose 1-4. Sill no Wilkins.

Paul Izzo in goal for Randers. 20 yr old Mo Toure (ex Adelaide), with Randers's 2nd goal, his 3rd in the Superliga this season.

Has been back training and is all cleared from injury now.

Hopefully we will see him being included in matchday squads soon enough.

Back in the matchday squad for the first time in just under 2 months, in what is a relatively important game for his side as well, as they'll look to put some space between them and the foot of the table.

The two worst defensive sides in the Danish Superliga this season, so there's probably a few goals to be had in this one too.

On at 86 mins (1-1) in a 1-1 draw

Wilkins off the pine at 80 mins (Sonders down 1-2) in a 2-2 draw.
They came back from being 2 goals down.

SønderjyskE are 3rd last (10th, 13 pts), but a nice 7 points clear of Vejle (last). Bottom two teams automatically relegated.

AaB (9th, 17 pts) and Lyngby (11th, 10 pts) are the teams that Sonders will likely be fighting with, to avoid finishing in the 2nd relegation spot.

1 more round before the long winter break out to next February.

Wilkins an unused sub in a 2-0 win. Hugely important win for Sonders who now spend the winter break 6 pts clear of the relegation spots.

SønderjyskE (10th) restart their season with a 1-4 home loss to AGF (3rd). No Wilkins.

AGF had a player sent off at 66 mins (1-4).

Sonders 6 pts ahead of Lyngby (11th) & 7 pts ahead of Vejle (12th). So a good prospect to avoid relegation, though no doubt will have some big games in the Relegation Round when league splits into top 6 & bottom 6.

Both Kiwis on the pine. Nice to see Wilkins back.

Both McC (57 mins 1-1) and Wilkins (74 mins 1-2) get on.

McCowatt with the bragging rights in a 3-1 win for Silkeborg, and he also got the 2nd goal, 10 mins after coming on.

It’s good to see McC scoring (1last week off the bench to) and getting more minutes, and great to see Wilkins getting some time, would still love to know if he had an injury or was out of favour

Wilkins is sadly a bit made of glass, so heavily suspect it was yet another injury.

Lovely strike off the left peg by McCowatt. Silkeborg up to 5th.

My listening skills aren’t great, but I think I heard the expression ‘wunderkint’ in there…

Possibly. McCowatt had only been on the field 10 mins, and of course scored off the subs bench last week as well.

The goal overnight was all his, last week a free gift. Nice to see him in some form being the big OFC games this month. Lately often the forgotten guy off the radar.

Actually if you watch it again it's McCowatt who pick pockets the Sonders player from behind in Silkeborg's half, to start the attack.

I guess after doing that he thought he had the credit, to take a shot rather than look for a team mate.

Sonders visit big club FCK and hold them to a 1-1 draw. Copenhagen juggling a 2 legged UEFA Conference tie verus Chelsea.

Wilkins on at 83 mins (1-1). Replaced a striker.

If he’s to make the AWs squad, it will be on the right flank ahead of Roux. FDV and Libby are dead certs on the left.

Roux one of 3 players hauled off at HT (2-0) in a 3-0 loss to the VUC on the weekend.Jackson obviously not happy about things.

They loose 3-0 a red in the 9th minute…… but worse then that is no Wilkins in the match day squad

Sadly you'd imagine that means yet another injury for 'sick note' Wilkins. He is either Sonders good luck charm, or they are genuinely better when he plays. From Niche Cache March 5th.

That’s a third defeat in a row for Sönderjyske who’ll soon be doing the relegation rounds shuffle – though they are five points ahead of the bottom two. None of this is very shocking having only just been promoted. They’re still in a good position to stay up, particularly with Dalton Wilkins back. A weird aspect of their campaign is that they have a +1 goal difference in the 277 minutes that Wilkins has played (he’s had a couple of injuries plus there’s a lot of competition at fullback in this squad) and -23 goal difference in the other 1,523 minutes.

Off his Instagram - He's out for the rest of the season after surgery on a knee issue.

Poor bloke can't seem to catch a break. From memory was in good early season form for Sonders and got picked for AWs last Sept, only to get injured at the first training in Nth America or similar.

Did his ACL 4-5 years ago, and since coming back from that he's always seemed to have an injury issue or two. Hopefully he has Ryan Thomas just down the road in Holland, in his phone contacts to talk to.

Currently rehabbing for an injury that curtailed his efforts last season (knee).

He has had some setbacks with it as well, but back into full training soon.

He has seemed plagued with knee & hammy issues ever since doing his ACL about 4-5 years ago. Rarely having an uninterrupted season.

Could yet still break into the World Cup squad, if he was playing well in the Superliga come 2026. Maybe more at RB than as a LB, where he'd need either Libby or FDV to be out injured.
