Have been in contact with Dominik. Currently in Bayern Munich under 19 side and Bayern Munich II squad. Has a NZ passport. From Christchurch. Said he'd be happy if someone from NZ football would get in touch with him.

Here's hoping...

If this needs to be moved to the 'Kiwis overseas eligible to play in 2012 olympics' thread then so be it :)

Bayern Munich II sounds pretty impressive. Is this actually the reserve side?

Yeah. They play in the 3rd Liga. Sitting at the bottom of the table at the moment though

Yeah HN passed it on. We will see. Certainly a good addition to the NZ under 20's at the very least?

make it happen...Lochhead(Rowe) Reid Smith  Traunmueller...!!

So he's real?
Permalink Permalink

If he is a RB sign him up to the kiwis... and the nix!!... after we actually have a look at him to see if he's any good.

Ben collet had various English age group caps before the knights as was generally woeful... so  his five caps doesn't mean anything really.

If he's in the Bayern Munich reserves then I say we keep him in there and see if he can progress, moving to the Phoenix would be comical. Jacob Oram played for NZ U-20..

Oram was a monster in goal... picked cricket because there was more of a future in it.

Ever so slight correction. Born in Bangkok. Mother is from Christchurch. Understand NZ Football is checking eligibility currently.

I made a research about the austrian national team and actually there are at lesat 3 right backs playing at a high level either in Bologna( italy) or in the Bundesliga(germany). Whereas with the AWs, this is the biggest weakness of the team.
So in this case he would have much more chances to represent NZ in the next WC than the austrian team...

Next U20 WC in Colombia is only in August and Austria already  qualified. So if NZ qualifies too he would have to take a decision this summer if he decides to switch allegiance

One trainer of Traunmuller sees him even more effective in midfield because of his blazing speed

Dominik will be joining Spielvereinigung Unterhaching next season in the 3rd Liga on loan after the Bayern Munich reserve side has been relegated.

I still am interested in whether he is eligible for NZ because lets face it, it doesn't really matter what he does if he isn't.

He will be playing at the same level than Stefan Marinovic. Hopefully he is going to be healthy again soon enough for the next U20 WC in August.
