The longest serving player currently in the Columbus Crew. 45 minutes last year and a few more starts this season. Surprised that there wasn't a thread for him.
Last season, this banner was made for him "The Kiwi of Columbus, the heart of the crew" it says. Marius Lacatus2010-03-16 14:12:25
When does he go back?
He's prob coming to watch the Nix on Sat
I always rated him, has a massive engine and was a smart player.
It's a hard balance between the new players and older experienced players. I kind of wish that Ricki didn't say that the 18 players were in sure. It would have been better if he had said that places can still be up for grabs as the 18 players has to keep their form and keep their training regime. It would have players like Mulligan sweat a fair bit. But if he keeps the training up there is no reason for him not to be there unless there is a better player for many of the positions that he can do at short notice.
I hope that Ricki is keeping in contact with Duncan. I sort of understand that Duncan may not quite fit the formation system in 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, but he would make a better RB in a 4 person backline than Mully because he would have the positioning sorted out.
The balance of the specialist position vs utility specialist can be tricky in the squad numbers.
Fans love this guy, I have a friend on facebook who I don't actually know but he loves Duncan hes a crew fan the guy I'm talking to. I really am hoping for a red card or an injury on another crew player so Duncan can make the team... I wonder if he should play in the match in auckland next month to try force his way into the team?
I was thinking that as well, why don't him and C James etc come back and try get included in the game..
Why didnt you ask him th reason he isnt playing for the AWs?. I believe he told Ricki to "Phuck off" or "get phucked" at a Airport in South America a few years back, Just ask Danny Hey about it. Royz2010-04-27 02:17:34
I actually told Duncan in a message on facebook that he should come down for the game, I actually think if he played in this trial match he would qualify.

that bird needs more beak
That banner is mint.
I had a random dream last night that Oughton signed for the nix and i got the phone-nix text
Should be in AWs
He's prob coming to watch the Nix on Sat
Hope that ends better than last time we spent time with him. Expensive hangover.
Does anyone know why hes been looked over for the AWs of late? Surely his playing level, skill experience and position would mean that he would be a "shoe in".
He hasn't fallen into the Hickey and Bunce group I hope.

However, I do like the fact that younger players are been looked at now though.

This man is one of my Favorite players for the crew, as a big Columbus Crew fan its been good seeing Duncan making the roster again.
Is he playing against Toronto, searched but couldn't find list of starting IX.
nope. Didn't play and wasn't on the bench
He is not even sure to be on the bench vs dallas:
The main lineup question surrounding the trip to Dallas is who will make up the rest of the traveling squad, with last minute roster addition Othaniel Yanez vying with veteran midfielder Duncan Oughton for a spot and the Crew only having one healthy defender to come off the bench.
finally wasn't in the bench against dc dallas
Duncan Oughton is a total Legend. Why you may ask?
I wish I could say why but hes made my day big time.
I wish I could say why but hes made my day big time.
spill the beans!!!
No. I might if he tells me I can, its just something small he did for me.
why is it that he is getting overlooked for the all whites?
did he poke u on facebook?
I don't know why hes being over looked imo he should be there and no he did not poke me.
Its interesting for Duncan at the moment with the crew signing a new player recently they have to remove one player from the Rooster its ever going to be Duncan or this other player. Lots are calling for them to keep Duncan though so I think he should be all goods.
I would love to know why Ricki isn't selecting Duncan. Someone should ask.
Duncan, James.... two good players who may miss out.... but Mulligan will get in.
Mulligan doesn't deserve to go, at all, in the slightest, not even a bit....what other country in the world would take a player to a world cup who couldn't even make the subs bench of a club team......
Duncan Doesn't know why he doesn't get in.
Gourdie if your reading, pass the phone to Ricki and ask him to call Duncan. cheers
Not even one appearance on the bench of columbus since the start of the season! I won't be surprised if he is waived pretty soon...
There would be a riot. Fans love him.
He needs atleast a couple sub appearences if he is to have a shot at the wc squad.

Gourdie!!!!!!
Gourdie I think you should get in touch
Things happen in the past and if your a quality manager, you get over it. Shouldn't be the reason he isn't getting a look in.
Agree with CBOZ, i'd hope Ricki's a bigger man than that.
If he said it in public. e.g to the media maybe then he deserves some kind of punishment. But since its never been mentioned publicly i don't see why it should be counted against him... especially for so long.
