The problem with the young kiwis in UK thread is that you have to read the ENTIRE thread to find anything - as the app has no search function. Hence the new thread. Is it a big problem?

Yea I guess it's fair. Just lots of guys at a real low level that I think should be in a sub thread. Each to their own though. So what do we know about this academy and player

Tom rogic got a contract at celtic out of the Nike chance academy. I'd be keen to see what other players have progressed to pro contracts.

Great opportunity for Dylan. It seems they play regularly against numerous top notch European reserve grade teams. Working on his game in that environment will do wonders for any kid with some talent and the right attitude.

Some good info on where graduates have ended up on the Academy's Wiki:

Cameron Edwards will be familiar to A-League followers - made his A-League debut for Perth vs. the Nix in 2011, then soon after signed for Reading in England, got released, went to the Nike Academy, then signed for Perth again when his dad took the reins for this season. Of course, his dad Alistair left Perth under controversial circumstances a few months back after a player revolt.

Fans of Nelson and ASB Premiership football will recognise this cheeky wee fella.

Sam Mason-Smith won Most Wanted I think, and that led him to some sort of Nike Academy type scenario.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Nottingham aren't in the best shape at the moment, money, transfer and manager issues, hopefully this might aid him though.

Ridenton trialled for the Nike Academy and didn't get very far, Burns (dislike the surname) must be some talent.

Exciting for NZ.

It's a two year contract to play under 18 and then under 21's in the second year starting 1 July 2014.  And given he's family I can 100% guarantee you it's true :). Nz herald story tomorrow.

Great news. Hope Forest make the play-offs - 'Knockin on Heaven's Door" - B Dylan, 1974.
