Made his debut for the senior Whitecaps team, when starting in an exhibition game verus Wrexham FC, last weekend. Wrexham won 4-1. Vancouver native Ryan Reynolds the link.
Keeps his spot in the senior squad for a Leagues Cup game today. Vancouver travelling to LAFC. This time Linder is on the bench. So worthy of his own thread now. Mostly a right back. Canadian born. Part of last year's U20 WC squad in Argentina.
I imagine he'll revert back to the reserve team, when the MLS resumes
Plenty of pre match stuff for the kids in Vancouver. Who doesn't love a mariachi band. Maybe not Ben Stiller in a honeymoon scene. But as they say the Americans (and Canadians) 'do sports well'
Linder got in - 90th minute sub. He got a couple touches - but a brief appearance.
Good stuff. Soccerway didn't show that.
Nice to see him make the last 3 match day squads (with 1 start) for Whitecaps senior side. Yes only a friendly against Wrexham plus two games in the Leagues Cup, but seems he's not miles off a MLS contract for next season.
ANZAC full backs Linder (RB) & Bovalina (LB) both on the bench.
I think this is Linder's 3rd short term senior match deal, so one more and maybe he has to go onto a proper senior deal?? That's the rule for the MLS anyhow. Not sure if applies to the Leagues Cup as well.
Regardless nice to see Linder getting a good stretch around the Caps first team squad. Hopefully he stays with NZ. I'm guessing he could still switch back to home country Canada, ie not yet cap tied

Vancouver Whitecaps went on a MLS pre season trip to Marbella in Spain. Linder included in this training camp. But from what I can see he didn't get any mins in 2 wins over Ukrainian & Swedish clubs.
Vancouver play Saprissa tomorrow in Costa Rica in the CONCACAF Champions League.
Presumably Linder will spend most of 2025 playing for Caps II in the MLS Next Pro. But he may end up in the CPL with Jay Herdman after that. Linder (mostly a RB) turns 21 in May.
