With Gianni really excelling the last year or so and looking like he is on the move to Europe - could the Aussies be looking at him for their national team? From what I understand, he was never capped at age-group level for Australia (only training squads) and he could very well be on the radar for them now. Could do a reverse-Joey Champness and switch allegiance?
He played for the Ozzie U20 team with, guess who, as coach?  Yes Mr Ufuk Talay, who in his westie wisdom (immigrant football community who think midfielders only come from immigrant communities).  Talay played Stensness as a CB, because he is big and strong.  Yes, that's the only criteria.  Keep it simple, for simple coaches.
Contrary to Phillip Rollo speculation, my sources indicate Stensness did not want the CB role and left.  No surprises Stensness, didn't want to play under Talay at Nix.
And, I doubt he wants to play under Hay again either.

Analyze the language man! And the amount of evidence based argument. Clearly not Royz. Someone with a fair bit of footy knowledge and a real axe to grind with Hay. Someone who has been here for 3 years but hardly posted. 
Possibly a multi for a more famous forumer or someone around Des’ teams?
Nicknamed ‘Con Stance’ (geddit?) we can’t rule out one of Danny’s exs too.
Well that’s the limit of my sleuthing.  But to be fair, the forum’s belief in Hay is a recent thing, and a few are not completely convinced…
Anyway an enjoyable contrarianism, if at times rather negative nelly.
