Pretty sure it's on a development deal at this stage, but it's encouraging that he's with the wider first team squad for pre season. If he manages any meaningful minutes he'll also be playing at a higher level than one Ben Waine...
Likely scenario is that they will keep him around the first team setup for the first few months with EFL Cup and EFL Trophy commitments through to Novemeber - Norwich in EFL Cup to kick off their season in three weeks, followed by Crawley Town, Brentford U21's and Bromley in the heavily rotated EFL Trophy games. Might even see him pop up on the bench for some League One stuff in between if all goes to plan. If he manages to start in League One that would be a highly impressive feat, and it's not beyong the realms of possibility that could happen too.
Mad to think he was lining up against Waterside Karori in the Central League just a month ago. Long may the rapid rise continue for the lad.
