Don't forget this guy was signed by Fulham

Saying that I like this guy and think he is good enough to play for us

Totally good enough. Musa and Boxall wouldve been perfect replacements for Siggy and Dura.

If it doesn't work out - sign for the Nix and take over when Dura retires?

Fox + Musa? I rate Fox so far.

Chicago and St Louis have some sort of partnership so for his sake, hopefully,  he can return when fit.

He's had a bit of bad luck at important times at overseas clubs - he came down with glandular fever when on loan at Hereford United from Fulham and had to be quarantined from the other players, just when he'd started playing regularly for Hereford and was in good form.

Not really. He's only just signed for St Louis.

I'm from the stl fc supporters group, the st.louligans. i can tell you that Musa has been an integral part of our team. His defense is solid. The fire are our mls affiliate. James is at full health.

Musa played 90 mins for St Louis as the USL League (3rd tier in US) season kicked off. St Louis lost at home 0-1 to Real Monarchs.

Permalink Permalink

it was on the road in salt lake city. The game was interrupted for a bit in the first half because one of the monarchs players suffered a seizure on field. The goal was scored in stoppage time and Musa had a great game on defense as always.

Scored a goal in a 3-1 win away at the Orange County Blues.

it was a beautiful set piece goal curled into the upper corner. I was at the match. You can watch all matches either live or on replay on youtube. Just search for stl fc. This weeks match was orange county blues. And at the end of the match i get significant camera time congratulating the team.

I can't wait until he's officially able to play for the AWs again.  Are the Nix looking?

Wouldn't mind seeng him come back to the NIX.

Another playing regularly in the USL, though unlike Wynne & Colvey he seems a regular starter (though the other have had injuries of late). Seems to have found his level maybe, though according to some judges he has the raw athletic talent to play higher.

Bit of a goal scorer, when will his AWs eligibility be confirmed - isn't Hudson a fan?

James Mzamo Musa - has started 26 of St Louis's 28 games this USL (3rd US tier) season, and scored 3 goals.

St Louis are 12th in their Western Conference, 4 pts between in 8th spot (last playoff place). I think they have 2 regular season games left.

Guess if Musa is still feeling fresh, and St Louis miss the playoffs he'll join Team Wellington again for ASB Prem?

Is his AWs eligibility sorted?

Colvey's team (Sacramento) and Wynne's side (Whitecaps II) will both be in the playoffs. Colvey hasn't played for a few weeks.

St Louis lost 1-5 at home to Louisville, and with only one regular season game to go are now no chance of being involved in the USL (3rd tier) playoffs.

Game was notable for Musa's sending off at 35mins (straight red?). At that stage St Louis were 1-0 up. However after Musa's red card they conceded 5!

Wynne's Vancouver Whitecaps II & Colvey's Sacramento Republic will both be in the playoffs. However neither have played much of late. Both could be injured?

Doesn't look like Musa's having a good time with St Louis. St Louis didn't have a great season currently being 14th out of 15 in the Western Conference of the USL. Mathematically they can still get a respectable 11th though. He's still kinda young (24) so I'm glad he's getting a lot of game time though.

I'd say Musa's probably pretty happy with his lot right now. He's a full time pro and a regular starter in his team - after a few years of pretty unsuccessful stints at Phoenix and in UK.

St Louis no doubt has a few hip areas to live, and also some no go parts of town! Being a summer comp, he avoids the bitter Mid West winters, plus travel all over the USA, and with 2 leagues above the USL - if he's good enough he'll be recognized and be signed by a MLS or NASL (2nd tier) side.

Lastly being a reasonably good looking rooster, he's probably dating a nice pretty local All-American college gal(s)!

Does anyone know if Musa is coming back to play for TeeDub this season. He is on their site but i think the info is a bit dated.

Musa's season has come to an end. He made 27 appearances for USL side Saint Louis FC where he scored 3 goals, earned 6 yellow cards and 1 red card for a total of 2,322 minutes.

He made one appearance in the US Open Cup where he played 90 minutes.

@NZFootballersOS: James Musa will not return to Saint Louis FC next season after they declined to exercise his contract option.

It will be interesting to see where he goes... odd that they did not resign him considering he was their captain.

Maybe wanted more $$$ or have too many foreigners on their books for next season.

I'd like to see James back in a proper professional environment, either here at the Nix or in Europe somewhere.  From what I've seen of him he's easily good enough to start in League 2 or be a squad player in League One here in England.

Stl Fc have brought in a new coach, Preki, and have blown up the team. Only 5 players from last years side were retained. I, being Musa's biggest fan, am very upset by it. But the new coach is a proven winner. And with my move to hastings as of earlier this week, i am hoping for a nix return

How effective was he in the DM role?

I watched a couple of his games online and he looked solid in the DM role. Strong in the tackle and some decent passing. Hard to tell exactly how good as some of the play in the USL is pretty poor.

He was always a rock in the midfield. Very solid. His defense is amazing, great on throw ins, and can attack when called on.
