As I'm a Maidstone United season ticket holder, I've created Josh his own thread as I'll be following him all season and giving updates every game.

I'm off to watch him make his debut for the Stones this afternoon away at eighth-tier Ashford United in a pre-season friendly.

Friendly | Ashford United 2-2 Maidstone United

Josh started and played 45 minutes before coming off at half time as Maidstone made 11 changes at the break.

Got an assist when his high cross from the right wing was turned home by Jamie Yila at the far post to put Maidstone 1-0 ahead.

Josh featured twice for Maidstone this week as the Stones continue their pre-season campaign.

He played the first 45 minutes on Tuesday night as Maidstone were beaten 1-0 at home to local rivals Chatham Town (Tier 7), and came on for the final half hour yesterday as Maidstone beat St Albans (Tier 7) 2-0 at home.

Maidstone are next in action on Saturday when a Millwall XI come to town!

Interestingly, former Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham striker Andy Carroll has signed for English Tier-6 team Dagenham & Redbridge FC, meaning that Josh could come up against the England international this season.

Josh wasn't named in the squad in the 4-0 friendly win over Millwall, but has since returned playing very minor roles in each of the next two friendlies, a 4-0 home win over Colchester United U21s, and a 2-0 defeat away at Cray.

Maidstone have also now signed two other strikers that seem to be getting more minutes than Josh.

League opener this coming weekend away at Hemel Hemstead Town. My prediction is that he will be named on the bench.

League | Hemel Hempstead 1-1 Maidstone United

🪑 Named on bench
⏰️ 15 mins + stoppage time

Josh came off the bench with Maidstone 1-0 up with 15 minutes to go. Hemel scored an injury time equaliser to claim a share of the points.

Won a couple of flick ons but didn't really have time to get into the game at a stage of the game the opposition were on top.

Next week at home to Torquay!

League | Maidstone United 1-1 Torquay United

🪑 Named on bench
⏰️ 5 mins + 7 mins stoppage time

Another late run out from the bench for Josh, and another 1-0 lead lost in the injury time for the second week running.

Josh replaced Dajon Golding in the 85th minute with the Stones having led 1-0 since the 4th minute of the game. But Torquay were awarded a penalty 4 minutes into injury time which they converted to take home a share of the points.

Josh won a couple of flick ons but didn't have any time to have any impact as Maidstone tried to hand onto their lead.

Next up Hampton & Richmond at home on Tuesday night.

League | Maidstone United 2-0 Hampton & Richmond

🪑 Named on bench
⏰️ 6 mins + 7 mins stoppage time

Maidstone claim their first win of the season to move up to seventh in the table thanks to two goals early in the second half.

Josh came on and played the final 13 minutes (including injury time) and looked decent in the very little time he had. Coming on 2-0 up is very different to coming on with a narrow 1-0 lead, and he closed down the H&R keeper and defence well.

Had a really good chance to score late on when put through one on one with the keeper after sprinting 30 yards and running clear of the defence, but could only shoot into the side netting from a tight angle.

Two games in 3 days coming up with the UK celebrating a Bank Holiday on Monday next week, so maybe a chance for Josh to get a first start?

Two more games, and two more late appearances from the bench for Josh.

Saturday, Maidstone won 1-0 away to Totten with Josh coming on after 78 minutes.

Today, Maidstone drew 0-0 at home to Chelmsford with Josh coming on after 79 minutes.

Scored his first Maidstone goal in a 3-3 draw with Worthing.

It looked to be the winner in the 93rd minute, unfortunately Worthing levelled it back up a couple minutes later.

17 minutes plus 7 minutes injury time off the bench for Josh yesterday, and his first goal in Amber and Black, in Maidstone's thrilling 3-3 draw away at Worthing.

United were 2-0 up before Worthing levelled things up in the 85th minute, but Redfearn scored on the counter attack to put Maidstone 3-2 ahead in the 93rd minute in what should have secured all three points. But the home side went straight down the other end and equalised deep into stoppage time.

Weston-super-Mare 3-0 Maidstone United

The Stones had a 'mare' in their long midweek trip to WSM losing for the first time this season by 3-0.

First game I've not been to this season, it is the second furthest away trip in the league tbf, and strangely arranged for middle of the week.

But Josh was handed his first start playing 78 minutes before being replaced by on loan Charlton Athletic striker Patrick Casey.

I was whether an offer had come in from elsewhere, like OFC Pro League, or Canada/USL, and both parties agreed to terminate to let him go. Not seen any update yet.

Was thinking a bit the same, that he would be a candidate for an offer from one of NZ's two new OFC Pro League teams. Even Auckland II will probably want the odd older guy in their Reserves squad for this league.

The North American leagues will finish soon, so not likely to go there you'd think.
