A lot (9) this season. 6 current or former AWs.
Too many for me to regularly cover in individual threads, for football at a 'questionable level'. So here's a group thread.

USL Championship (East & West)
Deklan Wynne & Jesse Randall - Charleston Battery (East)
Trevor Zwetsloot - Pittsburgh Riverhounds (East)
Moses Dyer - Tulsa Roughnecks (East)
Elliot Collier & Kyle Adams - San Diego Loyal (West)
James Musa - Colorado Springs Switchbacks (West)

USL League One (only 1 Conference)
Sam Brotherton - Forward Madison
Jackson Brady - Chattanooga Red Wolves

Hopefully Wynne, Zwetsloot and Adams can make the step up to the MLS soon. Wynne's been there before, Adams had a sniff and Zwetsloot wasn't too far away last season.

Too early to tell with Randall, but the rest have found their level I feel.

Too early to tell with Randall, but the rest have found their level I feel.

I think we have no idea how close Zwetsloot was to the MLS last season. A few of his team mates (all younger I think) in the MLS Next Pro at New England got called up. He just got let go at season end.

Hopefully he can stand out in the USL.

The other to watch will be Myer Bevan in Canada. Season curtailed by injury last year. Scored one absolute cracker before that. CPL starts late April.

Brady off at 49 mins (0-2) as Chattanooga Red Wolves, lose 1-4. Birmingham doing well in the USL Championship but going off that result the USL Champ is certainly stronger than USL L1.

Dyer off the bench at 76 mins (1-0) in a 1-0 loss for Tulsa FC.

No Musa for Colorado Springs, who lost 1-3.

San Diego Loyal with a 2-0 win. Collier off at 69 mins (2-0) & Kyle Adams on at HT (1-0)

Pittsburgh Riverhounds (Zwetsloot's club) credited with a 1-0 win Rochester New York (were in the MLS Next Pro comp) in the US Open Cup. But seems like Rochester New York have basically folded as a pro club, so game didn't actually take place.

Whitecaps II demolished North Texas in their game this afternoon. A couple of handy Kiwi contributions too.

Finn Linder with a tap in to double their lead early on.


Jay Herdman with a pinpoint delivery for his sides fourth in their 4-1 win. 🎯


Full 90's for both Kiwi lads. Good start to the season for them after turning out for the NZ U22's recently. 

There's something about Herdman that has me very excited for his future. Definitely one to keep an eye out for. 👀

Heard the expat Kiwi name Cameron Knowles in those brief highlights. Turns out he coaches Minnesota II. 

Been at Minny 2 seasons now, after a long time at Portland II - was at Timbers I think when Tuiloma first arrived in the US from France.

Perhaps Finn Linder not such a lockon for the U20s, and in Wellington trialling away?

From memory it was more ex AW Gavin Wilkinson who brought Tuiloma to Portland, much to the surprise of the first team coach at the time - who had never heard of Billy T.

Edit - now in ET at 0-0. Wynne on at 61 mins. 5 subs made by Charleston and Randall stays on. Good signs
Edit 2 - a 6th sub made in ET, and Randall comes off at 113 mins, immediately after Charleston score to take the lead. 1-0 to them it finishes.
