Geez not every player is gonna fuck us over after playing an int. friendly. Have some faith!
Can't wait to hear Miles Davis try pronounce his name.

I know they dont count. Im saying if he plays before nov misses out in nov i hardly think hes gonna turn around and say see ya. He'll be a part of herberts plans for nov though i think.
I don't know who he would push out and whether he's any better than Louis Fenton but good to see talks are ongoing.
Is he still eligible for U20s? That would be a good place to start him out
I expect Fenton to kick on next season as well so should be tough

I've probably been living in cockoo-land for a while, but do friendly games really not count towards "fully representing" a country? I thought as long as you played in a "A" International then you wouldn't be able to switch allegiance.
This means potentially that he could play friendlies for Ghana, Aussie and us before actually committing - sounds rather strange to me.
On a different note, glad to see Ricky saw some sense (read my posts in the previous page) - he is defo worth a shot, at the end of the day he played for the A-League winning team (sure, he wasn't a starter but he featured several times) - so I don't see why we shouldn't chase him.

He definitely looked a better player at the end of this season, just have a suspicion thar he turned Ricki down when they met recently which is why he wasnt called up.
Watched him play a couple of times this season. Would NOT even make the bench of the current AW side. We have plenty of players better than him in the same playing position. Maybe one for the future though if he kicks on
Just as a thought, in 3 years when Smeltz, Killen and Fallon are gone, the cupboard may not look so full. Fallon is basically gone now so...

This! Wake up peeps. We have no depth!

Again, which is why I find it odd we didn't use him in a game where we had nothing to lose. It could suggest he hasn't made his mind up yet, turned us down, or basically we didn't need another striker.
If these talks happened in January..

The point I was making is that we have depth now, in 3 years time, we may not have as much. TV, its not that we don't have depth because we do, its that the succession line is not as clear. With our striker stocks we have Smeltz, Killen, Fallon, Wood, Marco, Brockie and Kosta (and some of those players van double elsewhere on the field) that looks great today. In 3 years time, perhaps not so much so you look at this guy and Fenton for the future.
We could play him at the Confedera....... oh
...he's closer than you think...
Moss (Spoonley or Gleeson)
Reid (Boxall) Durante (Sigmund) Smith (Hogg)
Fenton (Bertos) McGlinchey (Payne) Vicelich (Keat or Clapham) Lochhead (Howieson)
Smeltz (Barbarouses/Appiah Kubi) Wood (Killen) Rojas (Brockie)

though id never condone a back three including hogg

Smeltz > Wood > Rojas > Barbarouses > Killen > Brockie > Fallon > then maybe Appiah Kubi.. Boyd, Bright.. still a long way to go.

fallons done buddy. i agree with the verstable payne that appiah kubi is probably after everyone else though
He might be "done" but he;s still a better player.

really dont think we are his first choice.

you never know how far he could go - maybe its Ghana he's waiting on for the call...
More youth players should also be brought into the team. A number of youth players appeared during the 2012-13 season, and Popovic undoubtedly understands the importance of bringing in quality youngsters.
Reece Caira (20) made two appearances as a defender, Yianni Perkatis (19) appeared twice as a central midfielder, and Kwabena Appiah-Kubi (20) played 13 matches as a winger.
If the Wanderers can hold a number of key players in the off-season, and strengthen well, the 2013-14 season can be just as good, if not better, than the season just finished.
