So what if he wants to make the Olyroos. He's still a kiwi and he can still play for NZ.

Any Different to Durante or Fallon?

Fallon, no.
Durante, yes. If Dura had played any level for aus in a competition match he would not have been able to play for NZ. Same reason lia can't play for NZ even if he gets citizenship.

I dont see him ever playing for us. Hes a player FFA would be a fool not to hold onto and help develop, only then would we have a chance.

Lia is one of us but as you say, played for them first.  My point about Durante is that his heart was definately in for Aussie (as you know made the bench even) so no different in mind set.  Would not suprise me at all to see him in black/white in a few years.

Ah misunderstood your initial post. Yes players can definitely change their mind - they do it all the time.

There's many reasons why he might change his in the future too.

Out of curiosity, I wonder if Hudson has contacted Appiah at all to see where he stands with regards to the NZ national team?. He's gone over to Europe to look for players so surely he's had a look in the A League as well.

I thought he wasn't that interested in NZ in the past? I'm not so sure that his upside is more than other wingers we already have.

Hudson does want competition for places though.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

He managed to convince Smith to come back (considering his game time has been limited it probably wasn't hard) but he sounds like a good communicator. He would be good competition for a spot on the wing. I don't think he's been called up to any Aus age group squads yet either.

Wa stalking about this at the game on Friday....once any chance of playing for Aussie goes, will he come back and say...I have always wanted to represent NZ?

I'm sure if you asked Dura that question at that age in front of that audience he would of giventhe same answer, and he wasn't even born here.

You know we belong together...

Couldn't be appiah with this signing.

Good solid signing considering Burns will probably get picked up overseas at the seasons end. Can't see Kenny being here next year and the rumours of Tyler Boyd not getting re-signed means we need to reinforce our wide players. Bonus is he is a kiwi too. From what I remember seeing him with WSW...he is very quick and strong with some skill but still a bit rough around the edges. Ernie should whip him into shape. He might even be worth a look for the AW's though we have loads of wingers

Always liked the look of him. Hope he thrives here

Anyone got a idea of the size of this kid? Looks skinny and shorter then Kenny.  Like he would get pushed off the ball a hell of a lot.

Adjust those glasses

Kwabena  1.80 m  5 ft 11 in

Kenny        1.73 m  5 ft 7.5 in

He'd still be skinnier than Kenny. But skinny doesn't mean much in football, nor does being short.

Depends on the situation and role. We could have done with a big strong targetman getting his elbows up in the WSW box last week!

Would those overseas clubs still come knocking if Burns doesn't find the back of the net again, or more often?

Agree with the rest though.  Welcome welcome.

I think he handled all of those questions reasonably well/fairly.

Seems pretty straight up.

Interesting he states his preferred position as center striker.
