It’s pro football SJ, players get turfed all the time.
Sure Appiah was shark at the Nix, but just don’t agree with a logic that players can’t improve/get better.
Part of the reason coaches exist

What do you think he's being paid to do?
Impersonate a professional footballer but in an amateurish way?
What do you think he's being paid to do?
Let me rephrase. What did his four past clubs, for who he's made a total of 104 first team appearances (according to Wikipedia), pay him to do?

that's a good question, averages 17 appearances a year (Wiki doesn;t break down into stats v subs) and has scored a massive 3 goals in pro football, not a great record for a winger!

One of those goals was a tap-in, one was a tackle on a keeper who couldn't get the ball out from under himself, and the other was a decent finish but into a pretty much open net. He has a terrible touch, which he gets away with because of his pace, and he isn't a clever player. He would have grown up burning defences and rounding goalkeepers, but you need more than that at an A-League level, just look at Krishna. I think he could have been a decent poacher 15-20 years ago, but those guys disappeared for a reason.

106 games of which he started 45 of them. He averages about 40mins on the field (played 4163 mins).
He has scored 3 goals of which 2 where Central Coast and one while with Incheon.
Still its good work if you can get it!

My bad, looking at one screen. https://us.soccerway.com/players/kwabena-appiah-ku...
No not for us, was only on the bench but scored another two goals for CCM in the FFA. It also brings up his number of games played as has FFA Cup as well as Asian Champions league.

He scored twice against Miramar in a pre season friendly at Alex Moore.

I think I defend him on here a bit because he seems like a decent guy who has worked hard to become and remain a pro footballer despite his limitations, so I think the comments saying he's not a footballer, or the incessant and unfunny comparisons with Usain Bolt, are pretty unfair.

Currently trailing with the New Castle Jets.
Now officially at the Jets till end of season.
Usain Bolt Ver 2.0 - Speed galore and nothing else above college level.
limited yes... but a professional nonetheless
all these professional football coaches that obviously dont what they a talking about...
The guy is a professional footballer he must have something other than his speed.
I honestly do believe there's a coach somewhere that can get some a league level performances out of him. Dunno if it's merrick as he's tried before and failed, but I really think half of Appiah's downfall is him just panicking when he gets near the box. Just make him train crossing five days a week or something
He played pretty well for Okon at the Mariners. Good enough to get bought by a kleague club.
And gets released almost as quickly from each of those clubs after they find out what he hasn't got.
His one season overseas is better than Rojas three.

At a significantly weaker club, plus Rojas was good at FC Thun

Roast at Thun was not a success otherwise they would have signed him after his loan.

He was good enough for Thun to triple the length of his loan until the end of his contract, there are many reasons he may not have signed
