Logan Rogerson (Auckland FC | A-Leagues)
Permanent move on a 1+1 deal
Really needs to have a good 2 season injury free!
Both Kiwis in advanced positions. Rogerson on the right & Whyte on the left of a lone striker. Note Rogerson is available for complete OFC tourney & Whyte overlooked of course.

De Jong, Barba & Champness to start against PNG?? Waine & Rogerson on the bench?
Honka up 3-0 at HT. At which point Whyte was taken off (1 of 3 subs) and Rogerson bought on.
Haka up to 2nd, but early days, and league heavy weights HJK (3rd) have a game in hand.
Mata, Rogerson & Collier all scored in the last week. But think none of them will make a final AWs 23 man squad (certainly not Mata). Dyer as well (pen).
But nice to see some Kiwis scoring overseas.
Again no Whyte in match day squad. Presumably injured.

Edit - Rogerson subbed off at 57 mins (score 1-1). His replacement scores Haka's 2nd goal, in a 2-1 win
Haka go back to 2nd, but HJK 3rd have a game in hand
No Whyte in match day squad.

Edit - Rogerson off at 62 mins (score 3-0) in a 3-0 loss. Haka drop to 4th.
Out of interest David Browne has played in 4 (once as a sub) of league heavyweights HJK's 5 games to date. The one game he missed they lost 1-4 at home.
League already looks a battle between HJK (2nd) & KuPS (1st), as it was in 2021. KuPS won title last year on GD.
TPS top of the Ykkönen so likely a tough game.
Rogerson starting & Whyte on the bench.

Edit - Rogerson with a goal. Currently 1-1. Whyte subbed on at 70 mins (score 1-1).
1-1 end of NT/ET. Haka win 3-2 on pens. Rogerson converts his pen. No mention if Whyte was a pen taker.

Haka is moving forward in the Finnish Cup! 🔥
In the actual playing time the final result is 1-1 and with the penalty shootout the victory for Haka I read 2-3!
At the point, the goals were scored by Acka, Rogerson and Auvinen! With the goal, Hilander secured the victory for Haka 💪
Edit 2 - sounds Whyte(n) missed a bit of an open chance in NT/ET
https://fchaka.fi/uutiset/mika-hilander-torjui-hakan-jatkoon-suomen-cupissa/
Niklas Friberg neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to Oliver Whyten who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post.

Edit - KuPS up 2-0 at HT
Edit 2 - Whyte comes on at HT, and scores in 85th min to make final score 2-1. Full game Rogerson.
KuPS go top of the league with the win. 1 point ahead of David Browne's HJK.
Hope Hay calls up Whyte for a looksee later this month. Sure it's only Finnish football, but Howieson didn't really show much in March. Think worth having a look at Whyte.
Yep you're dead on. Whyte offers more versatility, probably equally adept in the CM and AM roles I'd say. Even has some experience playing deep. Howieson's a locked-on playmaking CM, but doesn't mind the odd drive forward. He'd probably be an alright AM, just hasn't played there since he was pretty young iirc

For the second period, Haka set off seriously chasing the people of Kuopio, when midfielder Donaldo Acka, who was playing in a more defensive role, was replaced by a more offensive Oliver Whyte. 86 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as New Zealand finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The hit was paved by Whyte himself, who robbed Paulo Ricardo of an otherwise superbly convincing game and fed the instrument to Lee Erwin. Whyte continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy.

Rogerson replaced by Whyte at 81 mins for Haka (score 3-1). Haka drop to 7th.
Haka stay 7th.

Does it ever get warm up Finland. Crowd rugged up in June.
Edit - Full game Rogerson & Whyte subbed on at 65 mins (score 1-1) in a 2-2 draw. Whyte with the assist for 2nd goal.
Edit - KuPS up 1-0 after 15 mins.
Edit 2 - Rogerson with the equaliser to make it 1-1. Finishes 2-2 in NT. Whyte off at 64 mins with score 1-1
Edit 3 - stayed 2-2 after ET. Sadly KuPS win 4-2 on pens. Rogerson did convert his pen
Oh yeah and Logan Rogerson also assisted the second goal too

Three goals in his last four matches for FCH plus this absolute dime... #FlyingKiwis pic.twitter.com/tXhe7G67pg
But yeah he seems in good form. Found the right overseas move for him, at 2nd or 3rd time of trying.
Ditto others like Mata, Whyte, Bevan, Dyer etc it seems
Logan Rogerson had another assist over the weekend. Too fast, too direct. Dude's in some sizzling form right now 🔥 #FlyingKiwis pic.twitter.com/Q9Zrg3gfbc

Zarokostas scoring late for Haka to take a share of the points.

Since May 22nd, about the same time he started consistently getting 90 minutes - 7 Veikkausliiga games/1 Suomen Cup game.
3 x goals
6 x assists
Lad is on 🔥🔥🔥
Edit - Full game Rogerson & Whyte came on at 72 mins (1-0) in a 2-0 loss.

Logan Rogerson: “Collectively we’ve played well as a team and have been able to score a lot of goals. Personally, the time with the national team gave me a lot more confidence. I got to train and play with top players there. In addition, Teme [coach Teemu Tainio] has believed in me and given me responsibility, and that brings self-confidence.”

Edit - is 1-1 at HT
Edit 2 - Rogerson off at 77 mins, and on comes Whyte (2-2). Haka with an 86th min for a 3-2 win.

0–1
#Veikkausliiga #LAHHAKA pic.twitter.com/fvvYVuZ2E0
Ollie Whyte with the winner in this one. 1-0 it finishes for Haka over Lahti.
Rogerson definitely in AW's contention for upcoming Socceroos games. Perhaps a timely reminder to selectors that Mr Whyte has been performing well in the same side too?
Next up for Haka - The Championship Round. Top 6 play each other another two times (10 more games this season).
Haka on 37 points, and 12 points off top spot in 4th. Still, this will be their best finish in the league since 2010 (and if they finish higher than 6th it will be their best season since finishing 2nd in 2007!) A welcome return to some sort of form given they were in the 2nd tier Ykkönen only a few seasons ago.

10th assist of the season across all competitions for Rogerson in their 1-0 win over Inter Turku this morning.
