Luca missed this game and appears to have injured himself between Jan 12-19.

With the new coach coming in as mentioned above (by yourself) perhaps he's found himself slip right back down the pecking order?
Conjecture of course, but often is the way with a new manager. Different playing ideas, styles and tactics and the such. May have to bide his time?
Could be, though he's still their top scorer with 3 goals (as a midfielder) and a has a couple assists to his name, too - so it would be a very strange decision.
Also, from the reports, Rende were missing a lot of personnel between injuries and suspensions, so I find it hard to believe he would have fallen that low in the pecking order?
Trouble is, I can't find any news about him. Rende were active on the transfer market but no news about Luca departing the club or being injured unfortunately.
I'll keep me ears peeled...
Actually I just checked and his last game was in mid-January so a both injury and technical choice could be the reason he's been out.
For some reason I had it in my head that he hadn't played a game since before Christmas...

Rende lost 1-0 to Avellino this morning. The Rende keeper saved a penalty in the 6th minute to keep them in the game.
It looked like they might get a point after all until Avellino went ahead in the 82nd minute.

New proposal being discussed by the Serie C governing body. They are now talking of axing the league but carrying on with playoffs and playouts. Unfortunately Rende would be relegated back to the semi-pro ranks due to a new rule as they are more than 8 points behind their rival and therefore wouldn't qualify for the playoffs.
Scimia hadn't featured for quite a while even before Covid-19, so unsure as to his current status.

Scimia got 20 mins off the bench in 1st leg against Picerno (a 1-0 home win), and 30 mins off pine in 2nd leg (a 3-0 loss away).
In 2nd leg he came on with Rende already 3-0 down, plus also down to ten men.
2nd leg was 30th June, and with no games since, I presume that means they are relegated to the semi-pro ranks Serie D ranks???

Apparently Luca has signed with Fano (or Alma Juventus Fano 1906 as they are known these days).
Mods please update the title.
A return to the mother ship of sort, having played for Fano in 18/19.
The team was recently sold to new owners and narrowly escaped relegation from Serie C last season.
It's great that Luca will get a chance to stay in the third tier - he did as well as he could last year but his team were just abysmal.
Good luck to him - personally I'm stoked I get to continue reporting on two Kiwis playing in Italy!
I was getting worried Luca hadn't actually been signed as I couldn't find anything online to confirm.
However he's now played the 2nd half in the first pre-season match for Fano (a 2-1 win vs Ascoli). Score was 2-0 when he came on.
Can't read too much into it as the whole team was swapped at HT, however he's there and will get another chance in Serie C. Still quite young at 21 so will watch with interest.
Hopefully Fano will be better than his previous club Rende who had an abysmal season last year.
Comes on in the second half (26th minute) in a 1-0 win vs Cesena in a friendly game.

Unsurprisingly given the abysmal start to their campaign, Fano have sacked their coach.
The new gaffer is Flavio Destro, father of former Italian national team player Mattia (8 caps) who currently plays for Genoa.
Destro Sr had a modest career in Italian football (even reached Serie A and scored a goal against AC Milan) and has been coaching around serie D and C.
Scimia has not been getting too many opportunities of late. A change of coach could be a good thing for him.
