Yes.

Although I suspect it's actually from the Telegraph in Aus.

Yeah, that's where he linked from. Good news if true, I'd much prefer to support Liverpool (shudder) than support the Victory (double shudder).

Nope.  If it came to Liverpool or Victory I'd take Victory... Liverpool or Norwich however would cause me some issues.

With respect to this story, how much of it is true and how much has been floated out there by an 'interested party' to get Marco's price up a bit.

For example if my dad managed to get something in the press that Liverpool and Juventus were looking at me and it gets reported, does not mean its true.

Can picture Rojas getting absolutely slaughtered in Serie A. Can also picture him moving to Europe and being benched.

Good tactic either way, especially when the commentators have been talking about it during every game, and when you start throwing names like Rogic in there to show young players are moving to prominent overseas clubs. You might have a few other clubs take notice

Anyone know if we will receive training compensation (I assume we will) and how much we could expect if we do. Interestingly the articles suggest the tards could get A$180k if Marco leaves on a free.

Juve already have one midget. I doubt they want another. Unless they're looking for a backup to Giovinco. Liverpool would make more sense formation wise. It would be amazing to see him at either club.

Del Piero in the A-League and Rojas in Serie A. Nobody would have thought that would be possible a year ago.

And here I was hoping for a Wigan or Palermo to express an interest in him

There may be something in this. I was chatting to Marco's aunty this  afternoon ( the one who organised Marco spending 2 hours with Jazz junior 2 years ago). The family's reasonably confident he's off but if they know where , keeping very quiet on that. Good luck to the lad if it happens.

When we talked to his Dad last year it was always onwards and upwards for Marco.

Nice piece on the telly there HN, (doffs cap).  pretty much summed up what me and Vickmeist think of Rojas and I'm guessing  what we all think.

I was trying to think of a similar city in italy which is in the top division and also was the pits of the world but could only come up with Palermo!! :) But seriously these are the clubs where Marco would possibly play and grow. Heading to the Liverpools of this world whilst glamourous I don't think would be the best career decision at his age and ability

I think he'd end up stagnanting like Kosta in Europe.

As much as it is a shame to say, he'd be better off in England. Championship.. The dreggs of the EPL..

Why? So he can get kicked a lot while playing kick-and-rush? That makes more sense than playing in a latin country where they play more technical football? Or where he can learn more about tactics in Italy? Seriously...

Welcome to the forums Craig Foster.

I'm talking about the championship. Not the EPL. Certain clubs in the EPL would suit him well. Liverpool being one of them. I'd like to see him at Swansea if he was going to play in England though.

I doubt he'll move to England and I really doubt he'll leave Melbourne this window. one of the top Dutch teams or a mid table Bundesliga club is more likely tbh, a club like FC Nurnberg or something would be an ideal level for him. There is no point going to a club like Liverpool to be loaned out to a hack club like Barnsley, or to ride the pine for seasons.

he still needs atleast 2 seasons at a decent club in europe to polish his skills to be a consistant player before moving onto the bigger clubs.

Rojas at Swansea would be a dream, really - similar philosophy to what he has at the Victory right now.

To be fair, there isn't really anyone to cross to in the Victory team. He does cross a lot along the ground to Thompson, though.

I do love the fact that so many of us are saying he can and can't do this.

Truth is, until he's given the chance we will never really know... and  to be honest, if Liverpool for example think he's good enough to be scouted, and potentiall signed, then i'll go with their evaluation.

Being surrounded by and playing with better players may actually help up his game... not make him a bench player and stiffle his progress.

Did anyone expect Rufer to go to Europe and do as well as he did (other than Rufer himself), probably not, afterall he was a NZer and we all know we can onnly play the oval game.

If he went to Juventus or Liverpool he would be loaned out immediately. So for him the question would be where would he be actually playing. Considering his size and playing style he would have to be careful about getting sent to somewhere that did not suit him. Kind of love the idea of a kiwi signed to a Serie A side but he would probably get loaned to a Serie B side. Wonder if Del Piero had a word to Juve as he would have noticed Rojas.

I don't think Juve has any Non-EU spots available anyway so he would be loaned if they did happen to pick him up. And his most likely destination would probably be Siena or Genoa who have a strong relationship with them.
