This went under the radar, Matthew Warbrick has managed to go from the 6th tier of Scotland to the 2nd with Ayr United in just one season. Rode the pine for a match against Raith Rovers, will be fascinating to see what minutes he can get this season.

Well done to him, Stanger's previous club.

Chance to make his debut in the Scottish LC second round against Partick Thistle.

Great find. Well done. 👏
A good level to land out of the US college system too.

Repost of a repost. 2 min chat with young Warbrick. Age 24
He's a winger is he?

New Zealand wide man, Matthew Warbrick, included on the bench after penning a one year deal. Has been training with United for quite a while.

Interesting to see that Ayr United are in discussions to keep Matthew Warbrick around for another season. The kiwi winger joined the Scottish Championship club after trialling during preseason but only ever played three minutes for them as a late substitute in a Scottish Cup win in November. Beyond that he was only on the bench for one League Cup game and one Championship game. Warbrick was only signed to be a depth player but it seems likely he must have had some injuries too. Looks like he scored in an U19s game in January, a common step on the pathway back to fitness (unless they have a teenager at the club also called Matthew Warbrick). But yeah we’ll see how that goes with his discussions.

Warbrick an unused sub as Ayr beat Falkirk 1-0 in the Scottish League Cup.
Ayr are in the Championship (Scottish 2nd tier).

Warbrick never played for them last season despite arriving there 12 mths ago, so must have had a long term injury??

Played like 2 minutes off the bench for them in his only appearance in the Scottish Cup last season, so for sure thought he was going to be released at the end of the 25/26 season.

He could also just be a brilliant cultural architect to have around the place too. 🤭
