Lol at the other team trying to call a foul when Boxy had to drag two players who were hanging off his torso into the 6 yard box before shaking them off. The cheek of it.

Ugly but a goal is a goal.
Scored a miraculous one a few years ago for Minny, where he dribbled/ran basically 50 metres to score.

Will be surprised if that isn't ruled an oggie after the dubious goals panel sits down and reviews that one. Clearly comes off the shins of Vancouver #4 before it's crossed the line.

Claim it while you can Boxy!!
If Boxalls touch was making the ball go into the goal then it will go to Boxall, despite the efforts of the #4.

Decent whack that. A good way to help fund his growing CBD oils and CBD gummies business.

Boxy starting.
Edit - full game in a 2-1 loss.

Game that Minny should have got some points out of, conceding soft 2nd goal, then having a goal disallowed, plus Austin keeper produced a string of saves in last few dramatic mins.

From Flying Kiwis. Minny play Kaiserslautern in a friendly tomorrow.

https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2023/06/29/world/club-friendlies/nsc-minnesota-stars/1-fc-kaiserslautern/4065087/

"The international breaks are special for any player fortunate enough to have been called up by their country but this past one is probably not going to be one of Michael Boxall’s favourites. He was the target of the racial insult that, in light of some dismissive refereeing, led to the All Whites abandoning their friendly against Qatar at half-time.

Most of that NZ team are in their offseasons now and will no doubt enjoy the opportunity to dodge the spotlight for a few weeks. Boxall, however, plays in the MLS meaning it was straight back into the club stuff without pause.

That meant having to face the local media where, Boxy being Boxy, he didn’t particularly enjoy the focus being on himself and was quick to shift his attentions back to Minnesota United...

Boxy to Star Tribune: “I got too many messages. It's great that everyone reached out and showed some love, but it's nothing I want to get a few hundred messages about. No, I like to stay off the radar.

It's one of those things, I'm pretty competitive and I say a lot of things that I wouldn't want my kids to hear, but that's certainly crossing the line. It's not something I'd ever say. I didn't really take great offense to it, but I think it's one of those things you can't allow on a football field," he added. "I'm sure it's a slur he uses colloquially every day, but when it's directed at another player on the field, you can't get away with that. It's not something I take personally. I'm proud of my teammates for taking the stand they did.

I've moved on and I'm ready to get back to work. We've taken that stand, and now it's out of our control and just let the powers that be sort everything out now.”

Starts against Kaiserslautern from Bundesliga 2 (9th last season).

Edit - Minny 2-1 up with game halted with 15 mins left due to lightning.
German-American Terrence Boyd with the goal for Kaiserslautern.

Presumably Sarpreet Singh has started preseason at Bayern, or is trialling somewhere, or they are sorting out yet another loan deal.

Flying Kiwis.

Now Minny take a break from the MLS for a month as they embark upon the Leagues Cup, a former gimmick competition that is this year being expanded into legitimate status by including every top tier club from USA and Mexico. Group stage, then single elimination knockouts. Minnesota have drawn Puebla and Chicago Fire in their pool.
