Niche Cache. Ummm...hopefully he's back for Minny soon.

Michael Boxall wasn’t involved in this game (vs Suramns's Portland). He’s yet to return to training with that adductor injury he’s been dealing with for a wee while now. Still no expected return date to speak of. At least with Boxy (as opposed to other current injuries like Libby Cacace and Sarpreet Singh) his league season isn’t about to end in a week or two, meaning he can take his time and still get his match fitness back before the World Cup. The Loons have been up and down without him but they’ve now won their last three and also progressed to the last sixteen of the US Open Cup.

He gets around Minnesota's other sporting codes doesn't he? The Vikings, the Timberwolves, and now the Twins.

Great ambassador and supporter of the city.

He's apparently a huge basketball fan. All up he must have been living in Nth America over 12 years?

That's with his US college time, season Vancouver Whitecaps and now long period at Minnesota. Certainly got a bit of an American accent these days. More than say Nellie who's been Stateside even longer. I think Boxy also has a NZ wife, while Nelsen acquired a US one. Funny how it's works.

Cantabs less inclined to lose their NZ vowels??

Makes it sound like Nelsen bought his wife.

Three for me, and two for them.

Boxy on at 82 mins (2-2) in a 2-2 draw.

James Rodriguez came on earlier in the 2nd half, and provided the assist for both Minny's goals.

Good news Boxy back in the Minnesota starting lineup as they host the Rapids.

18 years old Lucas Herrington (ex Brissy Roar) who has instantly fitted into the MLS, starts for Colorado. He's a chance of Socceroos WC selection.

Boxy off at HT. Hopefully just a tactical switch.
Looks like Minny started with a back 5 & 3 CBs

82 mins and Rapids still lead 1-0.

Edit - finishes a 0-1 loss for the Loons.

From memory his Kiwi wife, is like a nutrition expert or something, so there is likely less chocolate in his fridge compared to mine.

But great to see he's in top shape.

Coach Cameron Knowles on Michael Boxall:

“He doesn’t have an age, I don’t think, but he hit a new historic max speed the other day in training. Which is incredible, there are very few like him. He is the most professional person and player that I’ve ever seen.”#FlyingKiwis https://t.co/mM7aEsxQfe

Too late to try him at RB once again?
Doesn’t quite shoot like Sakai, but otherwise has all the same athleticism!

I hope he shows his best at a World Cup because he’s had a couple of dazzling games in white of late, and if he’s not quite up there with Wood, he’s not very far behind in terms of his ability to impact a game.
