Depends how you look at it.

Yes or No are the only two outcomes so you can argue 50-50 (though technically not correct)

You think MG is staying at the Mariners ?

Not particularly, what I'm saying is that your prediction [and mine] has a 50/50 chance of being right.

You could argue 50/50, but you'd be wrong. Every team having a 50/50 chance of winning would result in 5 teams winning the league this season.

Wee Mac can end up at CCM or the nix, its 50/50 (all other factors aside).

Anyway I don't know what I'm thinking going into bat for nufc. Point still stands that putting your balls on the line for a 50/50 call is stupid. And if it is a joke it's getting really old fast.

Sheesh, FT is right - I need a Mrs or something.

Oh I am totally wrong I know that but it was in relation to another conversation I had with the wife "I have a 50-50 chance of winning Lotto" she looked at me strange and I told her 'It keeps coming up NO" It was kind of a funny moment that you needed to be at I guess.

Not really been on the forum much but what I've seen you've got a bee in ur arse?

Why so?  Nufc has the piss taken out of him - well it won't kill him and he keeps coming back and we all quite respect that in a weird way.

Whats up with you mate?

So I take it that he hasnt signed yet and theres a 50/50 chance that he will either sign or not sign. Is this correct?

why is the FFA ignoring contract law and trying to blag this through as a gentleman's arrangement? There is nothing to discuss, people have contracts to clarify their status so this doesn't happen. At the risk of sounding stupid there is nothing to mediate.

1) wee mac has a contract with a specific entity

2) that entity passes administration over to another entity

3) the new entity knows they must formalise new contracts with their employees

4) they give their employees a form to sign to reassign contracts to the new entity

5) wee mac has not signed this form

6) if the new entity didn't need to issue this form for players to sign - they would not have bothered.

= wee mac is not under contract to CCM

30 minutes in a citizen's advice bureau could clear this up. No one (should) care if the new CCM entity saw the form as a legal formality, especially the FFA.

I really feel for the guy, this is total BS

I feel for the guy but there is apparently an FFA rule that says players MUST sign an equivalent contract when a company holding the licence changes ownership if the FFA says they must. There are all sorts of levels of specifics involved here that we (or at least me) are not aware of. What exactly happened at the time of the switch? Did the FFA tell McG to sign a new contract then? They surely can't do it months later. Are they even allowed to since he was in Japan? The FFAs guidelines possibly contravene Australian employment law and it's quite possible they don't want them tested in a court.

I don't think CCM really have any interest in him as a player any longer. They are just proceeding because the longer it drags out the more they hurt the player they feel aggrieved by and one of their rivals.

then CCM is doing nothing more than very deliberately trying to drag this as far into the next season as possible while the FFA keeps away from a direct challenge to their bad rules....

and the only losers in the whole debacle as CCM sign new midfielders are.........us

crap

It could be that the signing of a new contract is to clarify a situation because of ambiguity that may or may not be contestable and that they just want to keep things clean rather than potentially go into a messy court battle or lengthy arbitration.

Just because he didn't sign a contract does not necersarily make it clean cut, we don't know the specifics so its all just conjecture.

Makes this Wee Mac thing even more of a joke. If they get Wee Mac it basically gives them an excuse to change ownership, then pick and choose which players they want to keep.

Would be a dangerous precedent, so likely we are going to get him (touch Chris Wood)

Which also goes to show how CCM are only drawing this out to be c*nts.
