Looks like he's been promoted to 2nd choice at Kofu. On the bench for this J2 game.

Edit - a 0-0 draw

Kofu with a 2-1 win go 6th into promotion playoff spots. They host Thailand's Buriram United in the ACL midweek so Woud may get another game in goal.

Ex Jets coach Arthur Papas in charge of Buriram United.

Edit - finishes 1-0 Kofu, so two clean sheets for Woud after so long not playing. This game was played at the Japan National Stadium (Tōkyō), that holds 68,000.

Kofu's next ACL game is post October's FIFA window. Woud likely be on the bench for the Congo game, with Tzanev to start you'd think. That's if Crocombe is still in the UK, as seems probable.

1-1 draw, and Kofu stay 7th. No Woud but he may get a run again in the ACL midweek.

Finished 2-0 win for Zhejiang (3 pts), Woud in goal for Kofu (4 pts).
Elsewhere Melb City (7 pts) beat Buriram United (3 pts) 2-0 in Thailand.

So after 3 rounds it's a tight race for 2nd it seems.

Woud in goal.

Edit - Kofu lead 2-0 at HT. If they go on to win they will draw level on 7 pts with Melb City.

In a shock upset City lost 0-1 at home to Thailand's Buriram United. Buriram coached by ex Jets boss Arthur Papas

Can’t hold the clean sheet, but win 4-1. The 1 was a pen, so Woud can’t be faulted there.
It must be an odd time for Woud, but if you add in the last AWs game where he did creditably, he seems to have put his head down, kept training and taken his chances when they come. That and he’s getting paid to be a footballer and to travel to plenty of interesting places!

Unfortunately Woud was at fault for giving away the penalty. 😅

Looks like he didn't have much to do otherwise, but yes it's a bit of a weird situation he finds himself in. Hopefully can get himself a gig where he's the starter regardless of the competition.

Lol, that was a less than convincing parry there! Maybe the selectors don’t watch the games?

At least he's playing after almost 2 years of not.

Bit of a strange situation for Kofu (7 pts) as well. Now a good chance of making the knockout stages in the ACL. Not something many ALM clubs have achieved. They host Melb City (7 pts, who they dominated in Melbs) and then away to Buriram United (6 pts) in Thailand, in their last 2 games.

But this weekend it's all about the J2, in last round of the regular season. They are away to Montedio Yamagata (7th, 64 pts, GD +9). Is basically an early elimination final for Kofu (6th, 64 pts, GD +11). Winner will make the promotion playoffs (teams 3rd-6th), loser will miss out.

So Kofu could miss out on the promotion playoffs (remaining a J2 team) but be through to the ACL knockout stages.

Winner tales all. Last round of the J2 regular season.

Kofu (6th, 64 pts, GD +11) away to Montedio Yamagata (7th, 64 pts, GD +9). Is basically an early elimination final. Winner will make the promotion playoffs (teams 3rd-6th), loser will miss out.

A draw and they would both miss out on GD if V-Varen Nagasaki (8th, 62 pts, GD +12) win.

Heartbreak for Kofu. Up 1-0 until 82 mins, a pen males it 1-1.
Then concede a 2nd at 92 mins, to lose 2-1.

So they fail to make the J2 playoffs. Woud watches it all from the pine.

Kofu have 2 more ACL Group games after the FIFA break. Be interesting to see if Woud keeps his keeper role for those matches, or now their J2 season is over, he's relegated back to reserve keeper.

Can 2 AWs keepers in 5 days conquer City Group's Aussie franchise?

Ventforet Kofu (1st, 7 pts) host Melbourne City (2nd on GD, 7 pts) in the ACL.

Big game for both teams with Thailand's Buriram United (3rd, 6pts) also right in the hunt, for a top 2 spot and the next round. 2nd to last pool game. 1st automatically into the knockouts, 2nd possibly.

As Kofu's J2 season is over, Woud might be on the pine for this one. Though he has been in goal for Kofu's 4 ACL pool games to date. But still seems like he's the 2nd or even 3rd GK there.

Be interesting to see if they make Woud's move there (currently on loan from J1 club Kyoto Sanga) permanent. Of course he maybe also looking at the new Auckland ALM club, in his home town.

A 3-3 draw. Maclaren & Behich full games. So they have had a busy week. Kuwait (Socceroos)-Auckland-Tokyo. Leckie also made his injury return off the bench at 76 mins.

No Woud in match day squad. So unless he's injured, he's 3rd best GK at Kofu??  If so you don't think Kofu would make his loan deal permanent for 2024.
