Wynrs boy has signed a youh contract with Gold Coast.
Signed the contract at 1 making him the youngest player ever to get a youth contract in the league, despite the fact he isn't (wasn't) allowed to play till he turned 16.
Know nothing about the boy other than he's a midfielder, which excites me, simply because we dont really produce midfielders.
Anyone seen him play?

Signed the contract at 1? Well I doubt anyone has seen him play, seeing he cant even walk yet!

having kids under the age of 2 playing (and scoring) in overseas leagues can only be good for NZ football.

He'll need to pile on some pounds if he wants to model his game on Lampard.
Is he even eligible for NZ?

Born in Vanuatu but moved here when he was eight. Left when he was 13 to Australia.

he can make some serious money there. with a talent like that
also could be useful n soccer field. imagine changing the opposition keeper back to 1, would make scoring slightly easier

this guy is listed as australian in that link?
where is the clarification that he is available for NZ?

To be eligible to play for a country you need 5 year residency and mitch cooper lived in NZ from age 8 to 13 which makes him available to play for the AW's

he may not have lived here for a full 5 years though, and I would think he'd rather play for vanuatu, or aussie as thats where he'll be playing all his footy.
Interesting prospect though, attacking box to box midfielder.
Lets offer him a pro nix contract just to get him back onside with NZ if hes good enough

Should this article not be in "Young kiwis outside the UK" ?
And i guess you learn to expect comments like this coming from you Buffon (without even knowing the boy), considering where he spent his time playing in NZ!

Cooper scored another goal as a second half substitute:

I'm closing this. Someone who probably doesn't qualify for NZ doesn't need his own thread.

Can Mitch represent us or was he not here long enough to qualify for a black book?
