Vancouver FC it is. Back to somewhat familiar territory in Canada & the CPL where he made his mark initially with Valour before being picked up by Tulsa. He is still one of the top 10 goalscorers in the CPL to boot. 😎

Mods to update his club please.

Dyer starts for Vancouver. Looks like he's out on the right wing, not as a striker.

25 yr old Jordan Swibel starts for Valour. Swibel had 3 seasons at SFC & WSW. So continuing the theme of fringe ALM players getting CPL gigs.

Edit - Swibel scores to have Valour 1-0 up early on

Mods - please change Dyer's club to Vancouver FC, Canada

Vancouver come back from that early goal down to win 4-1.
Dyer with the first for the home team.

Valour do down to 10 men in the 56th min, but was already 3-1 by then.

Nice start to to a new club and season for Moses.
Edit - pretty little goal it was too.

Potential Kiwi derby, but everything seems that Bevan is trying to leave Cavalry.

They host Dyer's Vancouver FC in a Canadian Championship preliminary round (Round of 16) game.

In this round is only Toronto FC of Canada's 3 MLS teams.
Vancouver Whitecaps & Montreal are straight through to the next Round (quarterfinals)

Dyer starts for Vancouver FC in in a Canadian Championship Round of 16 verus Cavalry.
No surprises no Myer Bevan for Cavalry

Edit - 0-0 at HT.

On the bench for Cavalry is 23 yr old Lleyton Brooks (ex VUC) another one of those young ex fringe ALM players now in the CPL.

Going off topic here but I really rated Brooks at the Victory, hope he does well there

Finished a 1-0 win to Cavalry. Brooks on at 59 mins (0-0), just before the sending off & goal.

Full game Dyer for Vancouver FC.

Cavalry through to play Vancouver Whitecaps in the quarter finals. So real bugger for Moses, a rare opportunity missed to test himself against MLS opponents in the next round.

Missed this one yesterday, but that's probably a good thing.

Vancouver's good start to the CPL season is ended, as they were flogged 3-0 on the road by York United. Dyer with a full 90.

Full game Dyer & Vancouver FC's goal in a 3-1 loss.

In the Highlights his goal is near the end (he scored in 81st min).
Not the prettiest, basically bulldozing over the prone Cavalry GK, into the net.

Ex Handy Prem Dyer & Bassett both starting for their respective teams.

Bassett was joint Golden Boot winner (11 goals each) in the CPL with Myer Bevan in 2023. Yet to score this season after 4 games.

If he’s the Auckland player to be announced tomorrow I’d be pretty happy.

It seems most likely tomorrow will be Callan Elliot and/or Luis Toomey.

Lets assume it will be Elliot and lets assume lads like Smith and Rojas will be signed by AFC (which unless they are settled in Aus and enjoying themselves, should be targets for AFC). For the sake of a bit of mindless wankery, compare the Pheonix and named/assumed AFC squads.

keeper - Pheonix have it however if Paulsen goes then AFC are ahead as they actually have a first team keeper

full backs - pretty even in my book, Payne & Sutton v Eliot & De Vries. all in the mix for all whites but none dominating a position

centre back - wootton v (assumed) smith, again pretty even in my book. Smith would be the AFC wootton, solid, experienced, able to marshall young blokes around him

centre MF - Rufer has it over Howieson. The latter seems like a solid player and could do a Rufer, but will need to do so

wide mf - old v Randall seems the fairest comparison. Pheonix have to have it here.

Forwards/Wingers - Barbarouses v (assumed) Rojas. Close thing. Barber has had a stellar season however Rojas on potential would be ahead. He has to get back to playing regularly in a team that suits him. Barber has had mediocre seasons himself mind and has benefitted from a team that suits him and he enjoys. Pheonix at the moment but in a season where both players have equal opportunity I would give it to AFC.

Pheonix 3, AFC 1, 2 draws.
If Paulsen goes then it would be Pheonix 2, AFC 2

I’d find it interesting from the point of view that he’d be a complete unknown at A league level.

And he seems like quite a physical forward, which is oddly enough something we haven’t produced since Wood, despite having 4 of them at that point!

I think we all know Callan and trust he’d go well. Dyer would be something interesting, both from his play and from his ability to make the step up. He seems to mix some amazing touches with some ordinary ones, but I guess as a forward it only takes one good un in front of goal to score.

Finishes 2-2. Dyer a full game.
