Kiwi derby in Canada. Calvary (5th) host Valour (4th)
Bevan starting for the home team, and Dyer likewise for Valour. Bevan as the lone striker, and Dyer tucked in behind Valour's no 9.

https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2022/05/21/canada/canadian-premier-league/cavalry/valour/3745405/

Edit - HT & 0-0.
Edit 2 - Bevan with the first goal in a 2-1 win for Calvary. Looks like he had a pen saved, and scored from the followup.

All the action was late on, in a crazy 7 odd mins. Bevan scores at 85 mins, Valour equalise 89 mins (assist from Dyer), the Calvary winner 92 mins!!
Full games both Bevan & Dyer.

0-0 at HT between Valour and Atlético Ottawa
Dyer subbed on early at 39 mins in.

Edit - a 1-0 win for Ottawa. Dyer finished the game after being subbed on, and McKendry a full game for Ottawa. Bassett off in the 94th min (score 1-0).

No doubt a bit down like all NZ football fans, ex AWs Dyer & Bevan can blow off some steam by kicking a football around.

Kiwi derby in Canada as Valour (6th) host Cavalry (2nd).

Unfortunately only Dyer is present (starting). 2nd game in a row Bevan has missed for Cavalry.

https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2022/06/16/canada/canadian-premier-league/valour/cavalry/3745419/

Edit - full game Dyer in a 1-4 loss. Cavalry (go 1st) even without Bevan a useful team it seems.

They have two young Dutch defenders (23 & 24) who both had brief spells in Eredivisie. An ex Honduras age group player who had a brief spell in MLS (Houston). Plus 31 yr old Joe Mason who got 6 Irish caps, and played alot in the English Championship (Cardiff, Bolton, Wolves). So Bevan got some handy players in his team.

Dyer's goal from this morning.  Good header after managing to lose his marker in the box.

4 goals and 2 assists on the season now for the lad. Who by all accounts is a very popular/integral part of the Valour set up.

Must've been tuned in for this one going off Andrew John-Baptiste and his from the heart pre game pep talk...

But yeah Canadian football on the rise. And they will get another huge boost co hosting the 2026 WC. I'm sure Dyer & Bevan will be enjoying the buoyant all things football mood.

Gets his 5th (2 pens) of the season, in a 1-0 win. Bleached blonde locks & all.

From the same game, can someone explain to me what in the hell just happened here?

Every fibre in my being is reactively screaming 'PEAK A-LEAGUE', and I'm so glad it wasn't. Can you imagine the crap the league would get in the media if it was here? Crazy stuff!

Off to a fast start. Penalty as a result of a handball.

6th goal of the season for Dyer. Don't think he's missed a penalty since he's been in Canada.

1-1 at HT.
Dyer with the goal for Valour, his 7th of the season (3 pens). He's picked up a yellow as well.

Edit - unfortunately Forge win 3-1. 3rd goal in 94th min. Full game Dyer. Valour stay 5th.

Despite the result yesterday, Dyer made his 50th appearance (47 CPL & 3 Canadian Championship) for Valour FC. The third player to manage that for the club in their short existence.

Also note he's the clubs leading goal scorer over that time with 17 goals. While we're at it, he's also laid on 7 assists too.

Well done Moses! 👏👏👏

He just scored again.

Watching it live on my days off. Have to say that was a well taken goal. Had a bit to do, and boy did he take his chance.

He's having a standout season over there. Already got as many goals as he did last season and they're just over halfway through their regular season.

Some bang average defending, could drive a slow moving tank through that gap.

But good to see him doing well, and others at that sort of level in Mata, Rogerson Bevan (before injured). Ditto Collier. Be interesting to see if De Jong gets more chances at his new PSL club.

Bit of depth now at that next (several) levels down from the Woodsman.

Edit - finishes 2-0 to Valour and they stay 5th, 6 pts off 4th spot and the Playoffs.
Full game & 2 goals Dyer.

That second goal was not easy to score. Had a lot to do before he beat the keeper. Surely some MLS teams must be watching him now? They love a good Kiwi in the MLS so let's hope that's the case!

I'd say he'd need a Green Card to put himself in contention, so then treated as a local. But he ain't living in the US.

Or obtain Canadian citizenship like Bevan has (maybe Bevan had Canuck heritage making it quick?).

Who knows he keeps banging them in, and the Nix may take a look next year. That's if Waine moved on, Barba got injured long term or something. Not all the Kiwi player signings should be coming out of the Academy.

But simple formula. Score lots of goals, interest at higher level somewhere will generate.
