Sounds like Rogerson also won the freekick that Whyte swung in late for the winner. We shouldn't get carried away, as this is just the Finnish league after all.
But great to see Rogerson & Whyte doing well. Likewise Mata in Ireland, and Dyer plus Bevan (before getting injured) doing good things in Canada. All of them are in their 2nd or 3rd overseas gig/country. None of them may play much for the AWs in the future, given who else is around, but good on all of them for preserving and not giving up, on their pro football dreams. Some may have found their level, and this is as high as they go.
Rogerson yeah likely you'd think the pick of the bunch to get into a higher league.
Edit - Ain't likely to happen, but I see value in these sort of guys (who's seasons will all be completed by November) playing for an AWs selection against the Nix in NZ, when the ALM goes into hiatus during the World Cup.
https://fchaka.fi/uutiset/haka-nousi-veikkausliigan-nelossijalle/The situation that led to the goal started in Haka's defensive end, when captain Niklas Friberg cut off Forsell's pass attempt. The ball ended up for Logan Rogerson, who ran away from the goal cannon of the Turku team. The New Zealand speedster, who is performing amazingly at the moment, passed the ball to Ojala in the box, who passed Matias Riikonen, who played in the Inter goal, from the front corner and then wildly fanned it to equalize, but certainly also facilitate his opening goal of the season.
The equalizer brought more power to the Koski team's game and apparently after this the Inter group, which was only hunting for a draw point, practically only faced the white avalanche.
- In the end, there was an equalizer, so one team was looking for a win and the other was satisfied with a draw. We were the one who sought that victory. We were pressed from above and created quite a few chances and then from the very last situation, Teemu Tainoi went in for the last twenty minutes of the match.
The final award Tainio referred to came in extra time of the match and again from a special situation. Rogerson's speed was taken away by ripping his shirt and Haka got a sidekick from the left side. Oliver Whyte gave a free kick that went inward to the front post, from where Erwin steered the ball past Riikonen with his head and the party at Tehtis was ready to begin. The goal was the Scottish striker's tenth and at the same time the man single-handedly became the top scorer.
