Whyte ended up playing 27 league games (16 starts) with 3 goals. Hopefully enough to see him re-signed for 2025. He had to trial at the start of this season, before getting a contract with a new coach coming in.

The 12 team Qatari top tier is actually decent. They get allocated 2 spots in the AFC Elite Champions League, whilst the A League gets only one spot. This year they had a 3rd club make the Elite CL (West), via the qualifying playoffs.
2 of their clubs have made the quarter finals after the pool stage. The Mariners for comparison were dead last in their pool (East). Not surprisingly Saudi clubs finished in the top 3 spots in the West.
For sure the 2nd tier a step down but Muaither were in the top tier last season (finished last), and I see they have a 28 yr old English defender who played 150 odd games for Doncaster Rovers & Peterborough.

Tamupiwa Dimairo also played in Gibraltar a few years back. Zimbabwean born, but he was a NZ rep for U17's, so we'll take that.
A quick look back through the old Transfermarkt files, and both Whyte and Dimairo both played for the WeeNix at the backend of 2016 - Alongside the likes of Joe Bell, Sarpreet Singh, Logan Rogerson & Oli Sail.

Well Haka were relegated last season, so it's Ykkösliiga football rather than Veikkausliiga football this time around for Whyte.
That, and the club just had one of the stands at their home ground burned to ground.
