Just wondering if the pressure is getting to Ryan but it's hard to gauge with the draw for the MLS being so weird. TFC have played 5 games less than some others. On ppg they are 3rd in their conference but currently sit 7th.
they are 1-all with Montreal in the Canadian cup final with a second leg to go.....win that and they go to the CONCAF champions league + they win a couple of games in the MLS on the catch-up and they are looking strong.....things are hardly bad

TFC has been ravaged by injuries and int call ups. I can't recall if Nelsen has been able to put out same lineup 2 games in a row. TFC has been creating enough chances, but just not putting them away, esp Gilberto who is one of 3 big money signings.
Having said that, TFC has been generally getting outpossessed by opposition in almost all games, some like 30-70 ish. Nelsen has been tactically inflexible, sticking with 4-4-2 regardless of opposition. Frustrating.
I don't think Nelsen is in the hot water yet (he won't lose his job if he doesn't win Voyageurs Cup), but he needs to start putting together some results or else the impatient section of TFC supporters will continue to call for his head. Nelsen will lose his job for sure if TFC does not make the playoffs.
3-2 win this morning thanks to an injury time winner by their CB Henry. Tuned in late, they were down 1-2 and playing rather rubbish by all accounts. Defoe then converted a half chance created out of nothing with 10 minutes to go and they piled on the pressure and converted the set piece at the end.

Yeh a cracker
1-0 win this morning. They lost the Voyageurs Cup final midweek against Montreal.
Looking good in the league though - only a few points off first place with 2 games in hand.

Some of the teams have played 4 more games than we have, so we're not doing that badly in MLS. It hurt to lose to the Canadian Championship to Montreal though. They are having a horrible season. We should have beat them.
Nelsen having words with an official at the match vs San Jose. The refs in MLS can be SO bad. Nelsen got fined for speaking out against one of them a few weeks ago!
Woof! http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2014/06/27/goal-gil...
Cahill came off the bench and helped rescued a point for NYRB this morning. TFC looked really good int he second half, very nice goals for Defoe and Gilberto (linked above) but the old issue with conceding in the last minute came back.
First time that has happened this season I think?
Still looking pretty good

Hilarious moment here between Defoe and Gilberto - Defoe arguing that he wants to take the free kick, punching the ball out of Gilberto's hands and then Gilberto sending a rocket into the goal. Classic.
Seems to be pretty unlucky with the refs this season. Very harsh red card in this one but they still held on for a draw.

Yeah they are looking good with so many games in hand.
We had a pretty bad game vs DC on Saturday. Nothing seemed to be going our way. They rescinded the red card on Moore from the previous game. He scored a goal, but we still lost.
Up to 3rd place with at least 2 games in hand over the opposition.
Nelsen seems to be cementing his job for another season with investments returning nicely - playing spurs in a friendly soon as well
ESPN LIVE THURSDAY NEXT WEEK:
Live | 24 Jul | 11:00 | Toronto FC vs Tottenham Hotspur | Club Friendly |
Ryan and Jermain up against their old club - should be a "friendly" friendly.
Toronto vs whitecaps just beginning now
I'd forgotten this was on tonight. Thanks for the reminder
Dafoe on 11 for the season, TFC in third and was a great home match. even Rob Ford was there.

Was he out of it?
hard to say, if a man starts drinking pepsi does it mean he has given up on coke? He definitely had his red cheeks out in support.
Woah, Dempsey, Bradley and Defoe getting paid more than most teams' entire salary bills.
Lochhead is but a little square at the worst paying team
Actually he is getting $125K so one of the bigger ones in Chivas.

You should know better than letting facts get in the way of a good Lochhead scapegoating - not may opportunities for that these days! ;-)
That's a stupid disparity. Toronto FC fans should be more than a little miffed if they don't deliver
Be really interesting to see a similar graph for the A-league.
Wouldn't mind seeing what happens to thsoe graphs when Villa and Lampard arrive!
a look at the premier league would dwarf the wage bill of the entire MLS with 5 choice players?

Lamps aint coming.

This conversation has probably been had before but does anyone else find it odd that Toronto have spent such an absurd amount on players, but have a bargain basement coach? He's the Roberto Di Matteo of the MLS!
