Next a trip to traditional league heavy weights Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israeli club same Europa Conference group as Logan Rogerson's HJK), who are languishing a bit this season in 9th.

In goal as Hapoel Nof HaGalil (9th) draw 1-1 away at traditional league heavyweights Maccabi Tel Aviv (6th).

Ligat ha'Al is 11 rounds in, and is a 14 team comp that splits after 2 full rounds into Championship & Relegation splits.

Newly promoted small club Hapoel Nof HaGalil will likely end up in the Relegation 7. So Marinovic's availability for OFC tourney start outside FIFA official dates questionable. But with Woud, Sail & Tzanev (if vaccinated) all in the picture I'm sure he'll be trying to make a case to his club, in need. 4 into 3 don't go, and everyone wants to go to a WC.

Well Marinovic was on the bench I see now so seemingly not a high priority comp for HNH.

Including a cup game Hapoel Nof HaGalil have lost their last 6 matches, scoring only once. Unlikely you'd think Marinovic will be released for AWs duty outside March FIFA window, his club trying to avoid relegation.

AWs seemingly still first choice keeper, a bit out of sight in Israel. So posted this 5 min highlights video via Flying Kiwis, of Hapoel Nof HaGail's game on weekend in Tel Aviv.

Marinovic unlucky to concede first goal. Maybe could have done better with 97th min equaliser. Crowds obviously allowed in the Promised Land.

Hapoel Nof HaGalil (13th of 14).

The Ligat ha'Al plays through the FIFA window, so hopefully whoever fills in for Marinovic doesn't have a blinder. Perhaps Hapoel Nof HaGalil  were one of those clubs Hay mentioned he had to be firm with, re not agreeing to release players from AWs duty?

Hapoel Nof HaGalil have actually conceded 10 more goals (total 36) than any other Ligat ha'Al  team to date. Hopefully not a reflection of Marinovic's form.

Marinovic's replacement keeps a clean sheet as Hapoel Nof HaGalil (12th of 14) beat bottom team Maccabi Petah Tikva (14th), by 1-0. Maccabi Petah Tikva down to 10 men for whole 2nd half (0-0 at send off).

Hapoel Nof HaGalil's first league win in 13 games.

Unfortunate game for big Stef to miss!

Tel Aviv were knocked of Conference League midweek by Thomas’s PSV

Hapoel Nof HaGalil 13th or 2nd last.

Hopefully Kyoto release Woud for first 2 pool games at OFC Tourney. Difficult to see Marinovic being released early. I guess Sail will likely come in, but tricky making your AWs debut in such an important tourney, having never played with most of the AWs squad before.

Be good for Sail to at least have Woud around for some AWs keeping advice, Woud having been around the AWs/Oly Whites squads for awhile now.

Points presumably carry through to Relegation Round, hence Marinovic not released early as Hapoel Nof HaGalil fight to avoid the drop, ie every game is vital.

Edit - a 0-2 loss for Hapoel Nof HaGalil to finish the regular season. When behind early in 8th min, and 2nd late in 86th min. So they will commence the Relegation Round in last place.

So Hapoel Nof HaGalil (13th) jump over their opponents with the win, and are only still in the drop zone below Hapoel Jerusalem (12th) on GD. Bottom 2 teams go down. 3 games left.

Edit - Hapoel Nof HaGalil (GD -27) down 2-0 at HT. They are currently 3 points behind Hapoel Jerusalem (12th, GD -18) & safety.

Hapoel Jerusalem are also leading 13th placed Maccabi Petah Tikva 1-0 at HT.
So looks like Hapoel Nof HaGalil, will all but have their relegation confirmed later today.

So big Stef maybe looking for a new club over the NH summer.

Edit 2 - Hapoel Nof HaGalil (14th & last) lose 2-0 at Ironi Kiryat Shmona. They are relegated as Hapoel Jerusalem (12th) win and go 6 pts clear with one round left.

2nd AWs keeper to have his team relegated in last few weeks. But unlike Tzanev you would think Marinovic won't hang around.

He'll be very motivated to keep his no 1 spot with AWs, so he can market himself in June. Imagine him and Sail in camp will both be saying to Hay pick me!

Although Setkus' contract looks like it's run out (no update that I can see) and Sarnavskyi was on loan from his parent club in Ukraine (not sure of the situation with that going forward).

Could be in line to go straight to #1 but I'm sure there will be good competition for him regardless.

If someone could update his club details please?

Also, shout out to Rollo for the eagle eyes on Kiwi movements abroad. 🦅

This is an interesting move for him.. Just for context, they’re one of the most followed and supported clubs in israel, mainly from the “left” leaning Israelis, they often have banners of the hammer and a sickle and che Guevara (the hapoel movement were formed by the early unions).

They got relegated to the second division a few seasons ago for the first time after being badly mismanaged for many years, and it was a big deal in Israel.

Their fans are incredibly demanding, a day before big derby games, their fan show up and support the team as they train with flares and songs but will turn onto the players, coach and ownership if results don’t go their way (which has been often in recent season). Stefan is going into a very “hot” and sometimes violative environment in which a few bad results it can be a very very uncomfortable place to be, so he needs to be thick skinned…

I went to their game against cross city rivals Maccabi tel aviv a few weeks back, and they’re quite a bad team, their foreign players who get paid quite a decent amount are especially targeted of the fan insults if things don’t go their way, however their facilities, stadium and working conditions are world class, and far better then Nof Hagalil, who are quite poor and almost amateurish in how they operate

Big club and big move, big Stef must have done something right to earn this move. The question of whether they want him as number 1 or 12. But I guess even if he's the reserve keeper, all it takes is an injury or a red card to the number 1 and he'll get his chance
