Not sure if Marinovic now in Belfast with AWs, or playing 2nd leg with his German team mates on Thursday.

Anyway Unterhaching looking good for promotion.

I can't find any information on this on the Unterhaching website.

Keep an eye here though:

A 2-2 draw this morning sees Stefan Marinovic & Unterhaching promoted to the 3.Bundesliga, 5-2 on aggregate.

These were the clubs in Liga 3. for season just completed.

http://au.soccerway.com/national/germany/3-liga/20162017/regular-season/r35874/

Still like to see him playing at a higher level than German 3rd Div.

Wonder if that short trial/training period at Wolves will come to anything?

Nix are looking for a keeper!!

But maybe for his career progression he's better to keep playing in Germany, a renowned nursery for excellent goal keepers.

Mark Schwarzer spent his early years overseas playing for lower division German clubs.

Main thing I guess is that Marinovic is playing wherever he is, and not getting splinters on his arse as a reserve keeper.

Not 'insinuating' a jolly thing, old chap. This is just a list of clubs, that Unterhaching would face next season (minus of course promoted & demoted sides) - for those who maybe interested.

If he stays, he will be able to play 1860 Munich after they were relegated http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40100802

The original big club in Munich. Relegated in front of a home crowd of 62,000 at the Allianz Arena. Ouch!!

Jahn Regensburg were champions in the Bayern Regionalliga in the 2015/2016 season. Two promotions in two seasons, definitely something for Unterhaching to aim for.

Owner won't pay the fee to play in the 3rd tier, so if they play next season it will be in the pub football leagues http://www.dw.com/en/former-bundesliga-club-1860-munich-set-to-return-to-amateur-ranks/a-39099337

If you can get 60 odd K along someone is going to pay that fee you'd think...

I hope his performance in Russia gets him a trial or two in a higher league than the German 3rd division. I think he deserves the chance to play on a bigger stage.

Would be disappointing if he goes to Vancouver just to be their No 2 keeper in the MLS, or only play for their 2nd team in the USL league.

Liga 3 starts this weekend, and as someone else pointed out, there are examples of German club sides achieving consecutive promotions from Regionaliga to Liga 3 to Bundesliga 2 over 2 seasons. Hope he hasn't just left his starting position at Unterhaching for more cash.

Looking ahead say if Marinovic can't crack the No 1 keeper spot at Vancouver (if it's true he's going there), and Gleeson continues to be starting keeper at Portland - what does Hudson do then re Gleeson for AWs?   Of course all moot if Marinovic not actually Canadian bound.

I can't see him being number 1 keeper at Vancouver. They have David Ousted in that spot.

Yes I see he is an experienced keeper from Denmark (age 32) and been first choice at Vancouver last 4 seasons.

it would make the Marinovic vs Gleeson battle a bit of a joke if one was playing MLS and the other USL.

Only people that make decent money in the USA are the big name marquees they sign.

Depends on what you mean by decent. I'm guessing a reserve keeper in MLS makes more cash than a first choice keeper in the 3 Bundesliga

Marinovic to Vancouver AllWhitecaps confirmed: https://www.whitecapsfc.com/post/2017/07/21/whitecaps-fc-add-new-zealand-international-keeper-stefan-marinovic Ousted's contract is up this year so chance for Stefan to take the no 1 keeper spot next year

Is an interesting move. Going on Vanvouver's last match report, Ousted is still playing very well. Seems like won't be easy for Marinovic to grab no 1 spot. Meanwhile down the road at Portland, Gleeson is firmly established as their no 1 keeper.

Must put pressure on Hudson to include Gleeson in his next AWs squad. Ahead of Tamati Williams as a minimum.

No pressure at all apparently. Marinovic has done well and I think Hudson prob isnt at all looking at Gleeson unless injuries.

There should have been pressure ever since Gleeson got the starting spot at PT but it's fairly obvious now that Hudson selects favourites over the actual best players so we just have to accept that we won't always have our best available team on the park. Can't see it changing

Neither. Punished Roux because he turned down USA/Mexico matches as he had only started training after horrfic injury. Hasnt picked Boyd since turning down ofc nations cup. Not picked gleeson after dui yet happy to flip flop on smith. He will never make sense

Roux has been back since, and we know that Smith asked for another chance. We have no idea whether Boyd has asked for that same chance or whether he even wants to play for NZ. A DUI is a perfectly legitimate excuse to exempt a player from selection considerations as well.

Hudson has made a lot of questionable decisions, but this is not one of them.
