Lots of experience playing OFC teams in Hudson's era, and seemed to genuinely love his time with the AWs. He'd do a job on a Tommy Semmy, far less so on a Krishna or Sotiro.

Scores again, this time in a 3-1 win over Karaiskakis (14th). No match report yet, but I'd put good money on it being yet another header. His 3rd goal in 4 games.

Perhaps Hay can bring him into the AWs as a back up striker to Wood!!

He's probably too slow now to play international footy even against the Island nations. But maybe he could be set piece consultant for the AWs or something. That's if he could make himself understood - from memory in the Hudson era his English was a bit scratchy.

But scoring from headers & free kicks always a strength of Greek football. Made them Euro champs in 2004, and ain't really a strong point of the NZ game.

Edit - Levadiakos's captain Alfredo Mejía, has been away playing for Honduras in CONCACAF qualifiers. Honduras finished bottom of CONCACAF, losing last 2 games to Mexico (0-1) and Jamaica (2-1).

Of course Australia fortunately got Honduras as their CONCACAF playoff opponent in 2017. Honduras have been to the World Cup 3 times. Whilst Mexico have been 16 times (hosted twice) & Costa Rica 5 times. So on face value NZ have drawn tougher CONCACAF opponents with our playoffs than the Socceroos.

If so a pretty cool journey for 36 yr old Themi. He was with his old club PAS Giannina when they got promoted back in 2010/11!  Then left them for Poland, when they got relegated a few seasons back. Then his new Polish club got relegated! Incidentally this season Giannina made the top 6 Championship Round in the Super League.

LEVADIAKOS prevailed over Veria with a score of 0-1, in the match that took place yesterday in the municipal stadium of the capital of Imathia, in the first draw match of the Betsson Super League 2 Championship, gaining a small lead in view of the replay, which will be held next Sunday at the municipal stadium "Lambros Katsonis".

The winning goal was scored in the 58th minute by Poletto with a place through the area, after a nice vertical pass by Poletto.

The players of LEVADIAKOS, having the support of the fans, who traveled to Veria, had the advantage for most of the match and could have scored more goals to get a bigger lead, but Vellidis with his saves kept the his team, culminating in the phase in the first minute of the delays, which defeated Simelidis in the fourth quarter.
