Surely a question for Bazely at next u23 press conference.

I think we can cut Bazeley & NZF some slack here. I'd say it was most likely Bindon was going to bypass the U20 WC for both the USA & NZF. The U20 WC clashed with pre season at Reading, as it did with Dibley-Dias at Fulham.

Sure if DB considered Bindon to be inferior to the likes of Issac Hughes & Kelly-Heald that has proven to be indeed folly. But maybe Daz just got feedback that young Bindon was focusing on his exciting club opportunity in the UK. At the end of the day doubt it will make much difference, and Bindon will choose the national programme that he thinks either offers him the best career path and/or that he feels most passionate about.

He lived in NZ until age 13, and recently again for a time during Covid - so the majority of his 18 years. Plus Mum (football) & Dad (volleyball) both played international sport for NZ, so I think is a good chance he'll plumb for Aotearoa.

He has that other Tyler (Boyd) as a prime example, that choosing the US is the riskier route if you ever want to play in say a World Cup.
