We got through that whole match recap without actually mentioning Sarpreet Singh which makes it sound like a quiet game from the fella. The truth is that it was anything but. While things didn’t quite go his way overall, he was one of the best players on the park, credited with five key passes (which was also the amount of times he was fouled) and it would have paid off in the dying moments as he broke through on goal with mere seconds remaining and the potential of a winning goal at his very feet... only for Daniel Heber to bring him down as the last man. Instant red card. But it did save a point for DH’s team by preventing Singh from getting his heroic moment. Ah well.
Jahn Regensburg trail 1-0 after 27 mins. Singh starting.
Edit - Singh off at HT with JR trailing 1-0. One of two HT subs Edit 2 - JR lose 2-1, in a big blow to their survival hopes. They stay (17th) above Sandhausen on GD.
Not looking great for Singh, hope Bayern relocate him in a better performing team!coochiee

They will be taking any offer they get for him at the end of the season. I highly doubt he is still on their books come the start of the season.

He was all set to sign for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, 12 months ago. Deal didn't happen because of his osteitis pubis injury.
Bremen are currently 12th in the Bundesliga and with 4 games left look safe (7 pts above the drop zone). They may relook at Singh. Or some other mid/lower table Bundesliga team, especially if he finishes the season strongly with JR.
J-R are 5 points behind Arminia Bielefeld (16th/Relegation playoff spot), J-R the game in hand. They badly need at least a draw, with only 2 games left after this one, in the fight to avoid the drop.
Demoted to the bench. Interesting that the last 2 games he's been subbed off at HT, so unless he's carrying some sort of injury, J-R's coach can't be happy with the way he's playing currently.
Going to be very interesting where he ends up, if J-R are relegated as seems likely.
Edit - benching Singh hasn't fixed Rensberg's problems. They trail 0-4 at HT!!
Edit 2 - final score 1-5 loss for J-R. Singh an unused sub. Unless he is injured, something is a bit rotten. Rensberg need to win their last 2 games (a longshot) to have any hope of staying up.
They fired their coach I believe so likely fallen out of favor. Often times if a team under performs the "good" players get blamed. coochiee

From Flying Kiwis. Singh will probably enjoy a change and a run around with the AWs in June.
Where have all the cool Sarpreet Singh highlights been lately? There haven’t been any, that’s where. When he initially got back from his injury (and was finally registered) he popped up with a few goal contributions and seemed to be picking up where he left off prior to getting hurt. But Regensburg have been so poor this season. Singh had some unlucky breaks with shots off the woodwork, being fouled by the last man, that kinda thing. All the while his team continued to lose games whilst doing seemingly little about it.
They probably should’ve sacked coach Mersad Selimbegović months ago given how steadily they kept sinking down into the relegation battle. That only finally happened last week following consecutive losses in which Singh was subbed off at half-time... and even then seems to have been as influenced by a falling out with the technical director than it was by the results. American coach Joe Enochs has been hired in his place, his most recent job was at FC Zwickau in the third tier (he was fired in February) having previously spent two decades as a player and coach at VfL Osnabrück. That’s him with his hand on Sarpreet’s shoulder in the pic above.
A very ambitious hire, that’s for sure. Enoch’s first game in charge was at home against Hamburger with the Reggies knowing they really needed to spring an upset to have any chance of even sneaking into the relegation playoff. Automatic survival would be officially goneskees with anything other than a win. Then Arminia went and beat FCK with a 97th minute winner to make the task even more desperate for Regensburg by extending the gap above them to five points.
What Joe Enochs did was he dropped Sarpreet Singh to the bench, not even using him as a substitute, and his team lost 5-1. They were 3-0 down after half an hour. Could be that Singh was dropped because he’s not coming back next season or it could be to do with the formation switch and wanting more defensive wide players (they went with the stock standard 4-4-2 so not a great fit for Singh). However on recent evidence he probably wouldn’t have made a difference. This team is bad. With two games left they’re five points adrift from even having a playoff’s chance of staying in the second tier. It’s not happening.
Singh’s luck with loan spells has been awful, the bro can’t catch a break. In three years he’s had six good months the first time with Regensburg and then he got injured (which eventually cost him a transfer to Werder Bremen). He never found a fit with Nurnburg before cutting that one short mid-season. Then there was also the registration drama earlier this term followed by relegation murkiness which has minimised Singh’s best attributes. Not sure what the future holds but thank the eternal spirits that it won’t be at Jahn Regensburg... and pray that there’ll be no more loans either.

I feel for Singh that injury really has derailed his career, missing out on the move to Weder Bremen was huge especially if he could've established himself there, and not being able to play til Jan didn't help.
He still has 1 more year left at Bayern so they may loan him out again and resign him if he performs and they can get some money off him but wouldn't be surprised if they just decide to cash in on him now. Can't see a Bundesliga club being interested so maybe a transfer to a 2nd league team or a smaller European league is more likely.
A shark loan deal to Nuremberg, Covid closed borders & lockdowns, long German winters, I think a family bereavement in NZ, a longstanding groin injury, missing the AWs big play off, injury scruppering a move to Bremen, that registration bungle at JR, and playing in a struggling JR team about to be relegated.
A very tough couple of years, following that dream first season at BM & BM II. 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger' or however that translates in Deustch.
Maybe is time to try the Eredivise or some other league, and hopefully some better luck. Guess it will all depend on what coin Bayern want.
Depends- a good technical director will know that he’s still got the same quality of vision and pass. It’s then up to the club to build him up and fit him in the way they play.
In other words if there were good reasons to take him to Bremen before those reasons should still stand.
It's so gutting. So many of our best talents have had their careers fudgeed by injuries. Reid and Thomas obviously, Sarpreet's so far. All have come from different academies/backgrounds too, so it's not an NZ football thing... Just shark luck
No Singh. So seems he's fallen out completely with the coach.
Probably matters little as JR are going to be relegated, and Singh won't be going down to Liga 3 with them. Still he has to be a bit careful, he left Nuremberg under a bit of a cloud (exited that Liga 2 loan deal early). Hopefully all just a blip in the road, for one our biggest (the biggest?) talent.
So with 1 game left JR are 3 points behind Arminia Bielefeld, need to win their last game, AB to lose, plus GD needs to go in JR's way by 15 goals. They are basically relegated.
