Played the full 90 in a 1 nil win against Brighton. West Ham are now 2nd in the Championship.

Sounds like he had a terrific game.

I was reading somewhere that he played pretty average.

Nah, I've been through the west ham fan thread and he is being almost universally lauded. Sounds like then hammers basically defended the whole match. Reid is steadily endearing himself to the west ham faithful, game by game. And that's no small feat given how many wrote him off last year.

I flicked it on and off.  He's defending very well, still gets a nose bleed any time he has the ball at his feet - it's 5 yard passes only and even then he looks tentative

Normo's coming home

Winston Reid's dislocated shoulder that caused his early substitution is even more cause for concern. The New Zealand defender went to hospital for a scan before returning before the end of the game.

"If we are lucky he will be out for four to five weeks, if it doesn't need an operation or pinning. It does mean I'll need to go out and look in the market for a loan player for that period of time if I can find one."

Bad luck for Winston

Hopefully West Ham win their next few games with a few goals scored against them as well, otherwise Reid might see himself on the bench for too long.

Was at the game last night, and he looked in a bad way when coming off (although despite there being a very early call for the stretcher, which was worrying, he was able to walk off).  Saw the highlights when I got home and although hard to tell, it looked like it was done by Nolan.  If that is the case, it would be one of only 3 things that Nolan did all night.

Faye had a decent game as a replacement, although I worry he will be distracted if someone starts cooking food on the sidelines.

Shame for Winston though, was starting to look confident.

Maybe Tommy Smith can get a gig there on loan... (wishful thinking)

If he can't get a game at a club that got stuffed 4-1 at Millwall at the weekend I'm not sure he's make it at West Ham.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Yeah I know, major wishful thinking

Do we know how long he is out for?

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

A bit of a worry, at his press conference this week, Big Sam talked about lots of injured players but nothing about Winston.

Bugger, it doesnt look like Winston will be ready for the big showdown against Chris Wood on Boxing Day, still listed as injured shoulder.

Must have had a decent game, Boig Sam said this abouthim

"Winston Reid has played his first game for eight weeks and has only trained for three days so he has done a brilliant job today. I know we let in two goals in the first ten minutes but to play a full 90 minutes having done nothing for eight weeks was impressive."

Nice to see Reid straight back into the side and a clean sheet and victory for the hammers today

Auckland will rise once more

I think Big Sam will get the best out of him, and hopefully keep him in his plans when the Hammers are back in the top fligh

Also notable were Mark Noble, Papa Bouba Diop and Winston Reid after their second 90 minutes in three days. Reid, in particular, caught the manager's eye as did his defensive partner James Tomkins.
"You have to give Winston Reid a huge amount of credit. He hasn't kicked a ball for eight or nine weeks, he has two days of training and plays two 90 minutes in 48 hours. That is a massive reason why we are looking stronger at the back."

Full game today in a 1 nil win over Portsmith

" Winston Reid collects a backheel from Nolan after the captain had controlled Noble's free-kick and is pulled down by Pearce. Noble himself will take the penalty. That's the second in two weeks earned by Reid."

He was also the player fouled by David Norris to get a straight red.

Our Winnie being kicked/pulled is our greatest attacking weapon at the moment.

Full game again in the thrashing 5-1 by tommy Smith's Ipswic . . . not a good day for a Hammers defende.

Guardian report only mentions that he was "denied" by the Ipswich keeper late in the game.

Goal!! Carlton Cole hits a very good header high through the middle from the centre penalty area (aprox. 6 yards) and scores!! West Ham United now leads 1 - 0

That last goal was assisted by Winston Reid

From ESPN Soccernet. Good on ya Winnie

played really, really well.  Scored a cracking goal which turned out to be the winner, and stood in front of the Millwank fans to celebrate.  Was beautiful to watch.

I now cannot decide if the goal he scored at the World Cup or this one has given the biggest buzz

Yeah it's a great hit, but i'm surprised it wasn't whistled up for a foul on the keeper.
