If he has a good season they will too X
Winston Reid (Unattached FC)
Crowd of 57,000 so already the move from Boleyn Ground is paying off re crowds and I presume gate takings.
yeah - those 50,000 people with season tickets will just stop showing up.
If you ever saw my contributions to the betting thread, you'd know that I should have knock shark like this on the head a long time ago, but I will take that bet. How about the loser pays $100 to Ronald McDonald House?

Call me crazy but I'd say the people fronting up the money and looking to push it to over 60k capacity might have more of an idea about what to expect.

Done.
Lets be clear, we are talking EPL matches only, right?
I'd go 'over 50K' if there was a market. Will someone match my bet? I'd be prepared to put up to $100 on it as well. Ronald McDonald house is a good cause.

I lived in Leytonstone (East End) for 6 mths back in 2002. For a Kiwi boy raised on the open spaces of a Wairarapa farm - I thought what a shark hole. Grim is being kind. Did see my sole EPL game at Upton Park (0-2 loss to Charlton), which was a mission, through friend of friend who was Hammers season ticket holder
Was renting a room in an ugly terrace that a old uni mate had bought. He got a cheap housing loan from UK Govt as an incentive to teach East Ender kids. The house's previous owner was a little old lady who had been there for 70 odd years, going back to the Blitz. No respect to dogged spirit of the Cockneys but Hitler would in reality have done them a favour if his bombers had levelled the place!
Anyway it's seems with white flight to Essex and other parts, West Ham's local supporter base is being diluted??
So I'll chicken out on betting that they will average a 50K crowd figure at their new digs. Still hope it goes well for them being a great old club with heaps of history/tradition, and they now stay entrenched as an EPL side, rather than yo-yoing to and from The Championship.
Has any London based club ever averaged significantly less than their capacity attendance in the PL? I doubt it....
Wimbledon? In my London days the crazy gang were always known as easiest club to get tickets for
But yes otherwise see your point, in a city of 10M plus

That's why I have gone overs... and season tickets this season were discounted by Gold/Sullivan to get them in.
Need someone brave enough to match my bet though...
57,000 disappointed home fans see Reid and his Hammers team mates fall 2-4 to Watford.
West Ham were 2-0 up after 33 minutes - then it fell apart.
Aren't season ticket holders counted, whether they turn up or not? Pretty sure that's true as Man U had a big crowd recorded in a match late last season but half the seats were empty.......as long as WHU sold a good whack of season tickets, then this bet is only going one way!
Another 2-4 loss for West Ham. This time away to WBA. Reid not in match day squad, and I can find no mention of an injury - so dropped for this week??
MOTD coverage said he had an injury.

Hudson was over in Blighty asking Reid and Smith to get their injury excuses out of the way before the WCQ in NZ later this year. They duly complied.
An injury, and the team conceding too many goals at the wrong end of table.
Watch Bilic 'encourage' Reid to make himself unavailable for North America
Another sharkhouse result, but the average attendance remains just shy of 57,000
Reid just created an Instagram page
he was superb last night
Colossus apparently

class. He just gets better and better. Really hope he comes back in November and NZF get the PR right
He was amazing all right
Reid was suspended for the league match against United on 27 November when they drew 1–1. Three days later he returned to play against United again, this time in the EFL Cup, only to lose 4–1. On 3 December they lost 1–5 at home to Arsenal. He was yellow carded in the 65th minute.
On Sunday, 11 December (Mon 5:30 am NZ) West Ham will play away to Liverpool. Tough match. West Ham are struggling, currently sitting in 17th place with 12 points. Only Sunderland (11 pts), Hull (11 pts) and Swansea (9 pts) sit below them. After the match against Liverpool they will play Burnley and Hull at home in the span of a week. A good chance to pick up points and get back on track.
In the FA Cup West Ham have been drawn at home against Manchester City, to be played between 6–9 January.
Winnie plays 90mins as West Ham score a lucky 3-0 home win over Hull, via Mark Noble penalty. Hull hit the posts 3 times.
Hammers climb up to 13th, 5 pts above the relegation spots. Hull are bottom of EPL.
