Doesnt really matter.. he’s already played a competitive match for Australia and wasn’t eligible for NZ at the time so he won’t be able to play for NZ.
I can’t see FIFA granting a retrospective exemption.

Here's an article about a young guy playing in 2nd div Scotland.
Says he's Australian but 'spent part of his childhood in New Zealand'.
Could potentially be another Ingham?

There's a guy called John Iredale, also an Aussie, playing for Marco Rojas' team Heerenveen. fair enough to assume he's related. He's a star in their youth team and is considered a huge Eredivisie prospect, remember a Heerenveen fan talking about him. Maybe he has Kiwi connections too?
According to transfermarkt, this Charlie Ten-Grotenhuis is eligible (somehow) to play for NZ
He also appears to have a modelling career a-la Tamati Williams.
His FB page has him as being from Londom. I sent him a message to ask him if he knows he's eligible to play for NZ :)

Myer Bevan does too as a matter of fact! Good looking footballers better equal good looking football
Did I hear someone say Tyler?
Well, that settles it. Shame he didn't expand more - but at least we heard it from the horse's mouth.

Nice work! I hope he knows for certain he's eligible and not from something that's been handed down to him..
Currently on loan at Gosport Borough.
Yeah I was hoping he'd say something like "my dad/mum/nan" etc was born there etc, but he didn't. At least it's something.

I have found a problem with some players that they have been told that if their grandparents are born in NZ then they are eligible to play for NZ, which isn't often the case, as you also must be able to gain a NZ passport (having a grandparent born in NZ does not qualify you for NZ citizenship). Tom Walters is a classic example.

I can confirm that his mum was born in NZ so he’s definitely eligible
Did you ask him on FB as well?
Credited with an assist in 2-1 Cup win over Esstern Cup Bees, some lower SA division side.
No goals yet at Sundowns and seems to have gone from one of the main players at Supersport, to just a squad member at Sundowns??

You are talking about Brockie, right?

Whoops sorry posted on bumpy bus in Uruguay. What can go wrong!
Please free to copy into Brockie thread. They love that cheat Suarez here.

Interesting. I have FB but no twitter, so between the two of us we got it covered :)
The lad must be getting quite excited with receiving all these enquiries into his eligibility!
23 year old Kiwi Gowan Stares (formerly of Wanderers SC and TW) has joined ninth tier Worcester City on loan from seventh tier Redditch, who he only joined recently moving from New Zealand. Good luck, hopefully a move up the leagues follows!
Jorge Akers an 18 year old kiwi striker playing for Hawks Bay is currently on trial with Birmingham City u23's. He played a match against Bolton Wanderers u23's which he scored and assisted, final result 3-0.

Bolton U23s have fallen away with Adam Mitchell, and a few others injured or promoted to their Championship squad.
Sounds like Akers a bit fortunate with the goal! Still great confidence boosting start to an overseas trial.
Charlie Ten-Grotenhuis scored a hattrick for Hungerford:

Ten-Grotenhuis' hatrick: (goals at 3:30, 8:35 & 11:00)
Coey Turipa, former Canterbury and Tasman goalkeeper (first choice for Canterbury last season) now playing for Great Wakering Rovers in the English 8th tier
Not sure where to put this but I recently saw that Ben Chilwell's dad is from New Zealand....
Unfortunately he was capped by England in the UEFA Nations League (I'm pretty sure this is classed as an official FIFA competition?) so he's no longer eligible for NZ... One that got away!

Is there a list of players that New Zealand lost out on in the International Scene due to them representing another country?
From the top of my head here is a few:
Archie Thompson (Australia)
Ben Chilwell (England)
Rickie Lambert - Unsure if this was just a laugh, or actually had a kiwi grandparent (England)
Ben McKendry (Canada)
Liam Jordan (South Africa)
Levi Hanssen (Faroe Islands)
I think there could be quite a few who decided to choose Australia over NZ, Joe Champness could be the next?

I'm very sure, given the rules at the time, that we could have had Tim Cahill too
Oh, and The Rock went to school in Auckland for a couple of years, so maybe him as well :-)
Greg Brown played for NZ a couple of times and then played regularly for Australia, the dirty snake
Khair Jones?

McKendry is still eligible for NZ. He hasn't played a competitive match for Canada.

Don't think Jordan's lost just yet either. Granted his career's not really come to fruition recently, is now signed permanently to a mid-table Danish 2nd tier team (Koge) who recently lost to Nikko Boxall's Viborg 3-1

Nah he's gone.. He wasn't eligible when he played for SA youth in WCQ so he can't ever play for NZ
The Rickie Lambert one was an April Fools joke from Southampton
Is Liam Edwards at Bolton a Kiwi? I've never seen anyone mention him before. His Transfermarkt profile says he was born in Crewe.
Bolton. Sounds like centre half pairing will be young Zouma (brother of) and Edwards, New Zealand lad who was in non league on loan.
