Not Boring ... I actually think we are there know as we have a goal difference of + 8, and Ubecks have a goal difference of -1, so if we loose all three games and they win there remaining two they still have to make up the 9 goal difference as it stands.

But to make the WC ......... dream time ... looking at SA packages now we are off to 2010.

I have always only ever envied Australia for two things:

1 - The weather

2- The women

But now I am finding a third, their football.  Go back 7-8 years and Australia wasn't in a much better position than NZ is now.  Failing national league, poor attendances, no media coverage etc. Now in this short time they have done a complete 180 cycle.  Although not always good atleast they have a proactive national body, taking risks, encouraging the public, arranging high profile matches.  They got 57,000 to the Uzbek game! I know we cannot match this due to stadium and population sizes but that's massive.  Plus 20+k to the Kuwait match.  With this kind of support player numbers must be swelling and with strong European and African populations they may get some exciting players come through.

Arrghh, yuck time for a shower, anytime I envy Australia I get this horrible feeling.

Probably get banned now for talking them up!

Ive been wondering lately, if Australia had been in Asia prior to 06 would they have qualified with the seeming ease they are going to for 10? Are they really that much of a better team in four years?

Considering they came very close in play offs against Argentina, Uruguay (the first time) and should have held out against Iran in 1997 that had they been in the AFC earlier they would have been to more World Cups.
