Could someone explain to me how Mulligan, Scott and Barron keep getting selected ahead of players like Old and Oughton who are playing at a higher level? Even guys playing in the second tier in the US are playing at a superior level to those 3, of whom two have only just restarted their seasons? If we had a full-time national coach who travelled and kept an eye on all avaialable players the selection players might be more fair and make more tactical sense. Hopefully none o the duds will actually make it onto the field, but what message does it send to players who make the grade outside the country? Is it the old if your face fits rule that held us back after '82?

The reverse of that is the assumption that just because someone is at a club oustide NZ they must be a better player than those here.

Barron is in there because he is a class act maybe for personal issues doesnt choose to go overseas.. and scott and him have proved there worth
