My run on team

--------Schwarzer-----------
-Williams-Spiranovic-Neill-Chipperfield
-------------Grella-------------
---------Cahill----Culina--------
-Bresciano----------------Kewell-
--------------Kennedy----------

Players unlucky to miss out.

- Josh Rose - Left Back - (Romania)
- Spase Dilevski - Left Mid / Central Mid - (Romania)
- James Troisi - Left Mid / Right Mid - (Turkey)
- Neil Kilkenny - Central Mid - (England)
- Bradden Inman- Central Mid - (England)

In fact Troisi is a hard to explain IMO our best young player.

Beech is hurt but he and his club are not seeing eye to eye and a transfer or loan is on the cards.

However he will find it hard to get back into the top squad as Spiranovic is playing for Nurbgerg and they just got promoted back into the top league.. Also Williams is a a great talent and had to choose between Australia and Ireland he was picked for both and thankfully he choose Australia .. Add Neil  plus Milligan, Chipperfield,  Josh Rose (see above), Jade North, Adrain Liejer there is sure some competition for spots.

hey Midfielder.....This squad looks great And I am sure they will go well at the World Cup, but is there any comment in Oz about the age of the players?

Lots of the stars are now over 30....are there many gun youngsters coming through and picking up contracts in good European clubs? Coz after this WC you are going to need a new wave coming in to replace the old guys.

Speaking of Williams... what happen to David? I remember at the Roar he was touted as the next biggish thing (by Aussie standards) and went off to Europe somewhere... the boy was quick!

Zinidane & SurgeQld

Zinidane.. there is heaps of talk about what happens after the current squad retire meaning about 80% after the WC.. The general feeling is the U 20 squad is overall stronger than the U 23 squad .. having said that a number of players are playing in lower leagues across Europe.

In Europe there are just under 50 players under 23 playing in reasonable clubs. How many of these players will make the top side is anyones guess.

SurgeQld

Has been out a good bit this year with a knee injury but there are so many players in each position and up front we have a number as well. Meaning getting into the Socceroo squad is quite hard and staying in the asisde is also difficult these dasys.

The youth league and the extra will just create more players .... add all the work going on in coaching / style / technical aspects of the game .. its looking good

Luggsy this is a link to the Australian playing overseas, it also has a box that you can select countries as well... if you click on a players name it gives club age position.

Congrats to the Aussies. Kewell was brilliant and Cahill was unlucky not to score that bicycle kick
