EXCELLENCE BREAKING NEWS and why making the WC is so important from the pages of the Terrorgraph today news that Ch 9 is going to run a football showhttp://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,25597392-5016360,00.html

Scroll down and their it is .
CHANNEL Nine is about to launch a new soccer program, hoping to cash in on the huge number of juniors playing the game. Soccer hasnt featured on mainstream commercial television since the 1990s and this is a significant move to attract a wider audience. The show is called Football Stars of Tomorrow and will be hosted by Stephanie Brantz, the wife of Fox Sports commentator Simon Hill. The show will feature coaching tips, health and fitness advice and carry interviews with many of our European-based Socceroos, including Lucas Neill, Mark Schwarzer, Tim Cahill, Vince Grella, Brett Emerton and Harry Kewell. The first episode is on June 28 at 2pm

Stephanie Branz is an excellent choice every time I go and what the Choppers (SFC) play she is their with her kids She is a football person from the tip of her head to her toes talks well and will do an great job I am sure this is a small but important step on the way to mainstream media acceptance.

I think SPARC or something similar would help fund it if it was for kids.

That was an amazing show. I won something on it. Or Soccer Central. Can't remember which.

Three for me, and two for them.

SPARC have had massive cutbacks recently. Not sure it'd happen

Jeez, the last thing we need is another show which is anything like 40/20!

...but I agree we should have some sort of footie show.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

If SPARC don't sponsor it perhaps MacDonalds (NZF sponsors) would step into the breech. They have been involved in Yoof football in recent times...
Alternatively, make a significant part of the show interactive, linked with a football portal ...(YELLOW FEVER TV, step right up!!)...show us your mobile footage of your club, school team, plays of the week etc.
Where's the buck$$ coming from you say?? format the show so that significant prizes are up for grabs every episode, and an even more significant prize for the season/series final.
entries by txt on mobiles
as many entries as you like.
just a thought.

Not entirely lyk 40/20, where you need 8ppl to analysis acouple of games but maby more similar to the footy show on channel 9? On a thursday before the weekends games?

just to stir it up a bit ...I think the format that would pay off should be a blend of the former "World of Football" meets "Wheel of Fortune"...with a splash of "American Idol " thrown in for good measure!!
