Did anyone watch all of this tonight? I turned it on and they were talking rugby, then they mentioned that England had qualified for the World Cup and showed the goals (also, later they showed the Scotland and Portugal qualifiers). They never mentioned the All Whites or Bahrain, but I didnt see the first 10 minutes of the show. Please tell me I missed the AWs, please, before I utterly despair of our media and any hope we have.
Interestingly, and in a reversal of form, TV1 sports news did a better job than TV3 tonight (although they couldnt resist mentioning we started shakily against a team ranked 129 in the world). I think this simply comes down to the fact Andrew Gourdie wasnt working so nobody at 3 made an effort.

It was the lead story, gave them big ups, talked about the home leg and the trip to Welli and then showed the goals from the Bahrain v Saudi game....

They keep calling it soccer haha Mulligan even said "football" then corrected himself to "soccer". Found it both amusing and annoying.
Was more in shock at the football coverage on that show. They NEVER show local football,unless its negative (like the adelaide player getting done for assault),so was pleasantly shocked.

Great stuff tonight, for those who didn't see it, it went something like this...
First a good piece on the Nix game v Newcastle last night, then it cuts back to Mulligan who says the Nix are in the Top 6 and only 1 point outside the Top 4, and that they play Brisbane on Saturday.
It then cuts to another news story, and when they come back Mulligan, says 'Oh the Phoenix play Perth this weekend, Stu on Camera 2 just informed me'.
And then said 'I don't want to upset the Yellow Fever, you know what they...oh, ah, yep, phew...' and looked itno the other camera...
Brilliant stuff.

It was good. Prime are very good imo, they manage more Football in there 30 min 5:30 news than the hour longs. Plus they don't have the time to put Phil Goff whining in!!
