that's it?

quite a big photo and two stories - one on the match and one, as ballane says, with ricki talking about upcoming games. it seems the dom has decided nix no longer justify front or back page. ABs coach got back page and some random feature on a rugby league player got the front.
not as bad as friday though - when the only reference to the
nix match that night was buried in the middle of the sports
supplement (remembering it was the only sporting event in town this
weekend, to be attended by 8000 people and live on national tele) -
which was really disappointing. its stumps me even more when
andrew strauss signing with northern districts to play a few
domestic cricket matches that only a handful
of wellingtonian will watch gets a back page billing. and
there was a whole raft of other random stuff that made the main
sports section, while the nix didnt. crazy

Are they not having Ricki Herbert's match day column anymore?
Kinda repetitive, what with his bit in the Full 90 as well, but still worth reading.

There are two copies of the DomPost that get published - an
early edition (which just had the photo and a score) and the later
one which had the match report etc.
Fred was there and doing a great job as per usual. Not
his call where the stories end up.

Definitely not meant as a criticism of Fred. im sure he'd have Phoenix front and back page if his call.

agreed, how can a feel good story about a league player get front
page when once again! a game is attended by more than go to the
Lie-ins games (who always get front page)
is it the sports editors job to decide such matters!, if so how the hell can he/she justify that appalling anti-football bias
so much for respecting their readers and the region - pathetic!, are they that worried about the rise of football

- yeah, no dis-respect intended to Fred Woodcock ...... I did have a think before posting - the game ended at 9:30pm. the paper gets put to bed at about 11pm and I only live 50kms from Wellington so I assumed the edition I buy would have coverage.
Somewhat disappointed after the half-page / full page coverage that the Nix have been getting lately.
