Greetings from Canada!

My name is Ben and I am a supporter of Toronto FC, the lone Canadian club in Major League Soccer. We share something in common - you guys are the lone Kiwi club in the Hyundai A-League. As well, I see that you are just beginning your second season while we are just finishing ours. This has got me thinking...

I run a Toronto FC blog up here in Canada. Click here to check it out. I was thinking we could play off of our similarities. Does any supporter here run a blog about Wellington Phoenix FC? I would love to create a "blog partnership." In short, we could link to each other's blogs and keep each other updated on our progress and growth as we move forward as football clubs. It would create more publicity to our blogs as well as our clubs.

Let me know what you guys think, and best of luck this season in the A-League. I look forward to following your clubs progress this season.

PS: Mods, if you deem this thread to be in the wrong section feel free to move it.

URL is wrong, correct address is  http://www.tfcconnected.blogspot.com

Will keep tabs on you lot for Jarrod Smith...but being a longtime Ottawa Senators fan means it'd just not feel right to cheer for any team named Toronto

Didn't work when I posted, but it does now so the points is moot

And don't worry, I'll try to avoid gloating about the Sens

Haha I'm not that confused. I support NZ football teams because I got into football after moving here. I still support Australian rugby teams because I got into rugby before emigrating

It's been so long I can hardly remember why I chose them haha. I've been following them since 2001-02, despite the efforts of an ex-girlfriend from Vancouver who tried to woo me towards the Canucks. I wanted to support a Canadian team, and for some reason I can't remember I gravitated towards Ottawa. Of course, Toronto swept us that year but I stuck with them, and got rewarded with a Presidents Trophy winning team the next.

So an Aussie rugby supporter converted Kiwi football supporter. It's all coming together now.

Toronto is going to be pure sh*te this year in hockey, not that I really care.

How is Jarrod Smith doing for your national side? Is he a player you'd want playing for Wellington?

I'm not sure really. We desperately need another striker, but he didn't seem to have the finishing touch that we're seriously lacking when I saw him last. I'd like to see him continue in the MLS - I don't believe in NZ putting all it's eggs in one basket, especially with us playing like a basket case at the moment!

Part of me would love to see them bring Ian Smith in on sideline comments just because his son is playing.

On the topic of Jarrod Smith, i always thought he was pretty quality. For the short time he was at Hawkes Bay United i personally rated him over Brockie. Although Brockie was hardly in great form last season...
I wouldnt mind seeing Smith in the a-league at all
