Congratulations to Manny on his call-up -

Hope it all goes well and he gets a chance to mark players like Milan Baros, Jan Polak and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - after them shutting down Joel Grif should be a breeze!

Great to have another "international" in the Nix squad.

Well done Manny - well deserved reward for hard work and commitment.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

interesting - i hope he doesn't but i do hope we have Ryan and Winston available for our friendlies (but won't be surprised - or too offended if neither turn up)

This seems like a different window though tigers?  It's this coming week, so he'd miss the Perth game.

Interesting that it says Hutchinson (CCM) isn't available for these games, so I'm guessing Muscat hasn't made himself unavailable at this stage...

yep different window -same issue

we all want our lads to stay with the club ahead of an international cap and we want o'seas clubs to release the AW's and for them to risk their place in the pecking order to turn out for Aw's

just human nature in action, i guess

Yeah it's a great comparison

But isn't the difference, Muscat will miss a club game while Reid will not? The argument being that a trip around the world for two friendlies will jeopardise Reids West Ham spot due to not coming back in the best shape?

Manny is definitely going to play for Malta, so he'll miss the Perth match.

On a more positive note, Jade North will be on the same plane back to Wellington with him, so both will be available for the Sydney game on September 11.

Hmm, so I guess just a straight swap with Troy in to RB. And Toto maybe onto the bench.

Fair enough too. I want all clubs (including our own) to respect international windows.

it seems unlikely we'll see the admiral and whilst Reid being dropped by Wham is good for his likelihood of comoing over - I'd almost rather he stayed over there and fought for his place in the prem

because i figure he'll improve faster that way ready for confed cup quals

Malta play Israel in Ramat Gan (Tel Aviv) tomorrow at 6:15. Thinking of watching it assuming there's a stream.

1-1 at half time. Manny not in the starting lineup.

...and not on the bench either, as just announced by the commentator. Gonna stop watching.

Pretty sure he came on in the 80th minute, I watched the first 20 of the second half.
