it's usually transparent on all the live stuff now. with older stuff still non-transparent. yes the logo could be smaller too but I've never seen it as big as the one in your picture.

Well, I exaggerated for effect. But the live game this morning......stuck out like a sore thumb.

Permalink Permalink

It can also vary a bit I've realised. on the football games they're usually not as transparent/virtually not transparent at all because there is the sentanta logo behind it. whereas on the afl it's very transparent.

Ive never noticed, maybe it differs depending on how you're receiving the channel? For me its always been small and transparent. At home and at work.

• Argentinean League
• German FA Cup
• Chinese FA Cup
• Chelsea TV
• Football League & League Cup 2012/13, 2013/14 & 2014/15
(excluding the Football League Highlights, The Football League Cup Final and The Championship Play-off Final in each season)
• The UEFA Europa League 2012/13, 2013/14 & 2014/15

• The FA Community Shield 2012/13, 2013/14 & 2014/15

Luigi Cisaria

Curious as to some of the football information provided on the new website, which looks great btw. You have listed Scottish FA Cup, Argentinean League, German FA Cup, Chinese FA Cup, but we don't seem to have had any of those. I appreciate that you are showing heaps of football already, and love it. Just wondering if there are plans to show any of the aforementioned competitions. Also, do I understand correctly that you cannot show the League Cup Final, or the play-off final?Like · · 17 hours ago near Auckland

I asked them on twitter if they planned to show the Australia v Costa Rica game on the 19th November. At the moment they don't plan too but if there is enough demand, they will look into getting them. So if your on Friendface, wanna post a msg asking them to get the rights? Would think Carlos & Kenny might be chances to play.

Well, roll on Sommet going to satellite, because I just picked up a Freeview box and I was too broke to spring for an aerial as well (or to risk trying it with my existing bunny ears). But while I'm waiting, Cue TV (coming out of Invercargill!) has a weekly Bundesliga highlights roundup, in English.

Sommet have Bundesliga in Englis too.
Or are you saying that this is significant for an Invercargill transmission?

Yeah, I'm amazed to see anything on Invercargill TV apart from "Interesting Rocks of the Hokonui Plains" and Tim Shadbolt's open-mike poetry yelling.

Sommet is not perfect but they do show quite a lot of football...and given that Sky are only showing selected EPL tv am more than happy to carry on watching, In fact if they stated showing the darts then I would probably can the sky sports altogether. Its a real shame that Sky didnt try to get the championship and Npower leagues to show as there is a lot of decent football there and not everybody supports the show pony teams of the EPL

... wow, a bunch of whiners on the Sommet FB page complaining about the wait (Sommet says it's waiting for space on the satellite), and even some whining that Sommet will be available on SKY, because they hate SKY more than they like Sommet.

Good god that's a frightening thought. I'd hate to see premier league go back to sky's selection of what games are worth showing.

Beats the zero they show now.

Does it? I dunno. Sky were terrible at guessing what games I wanted to watch. I'm good at choosing that with 100% hit rate. I don't miss sky's premiere league coverage at all, especially with plp's new high bit rate stream.

To be honest the sooner the a-league offer a direct stream package the better. I like not having to worry about recording stuff and not being tied to a single location.

Sky need to do what Foxtel have been doing for years and show ALL PL games live using their viewers choice thing... the platform/technology is the same, they're just taking the piss really - kinda served them right they lost it but as a fan I'm spewing.

I go back to this. I can watch no games on sky or some games on sky. Some games are better than no games every single time.

I've seen mixed messages about if you can record viewers choice games, and to be honest, it ties me down to a physical address. I like catching games at work out of the corner of my eye, or when i'm on holiday.

I find Sky very poor value. I'm not interested in anything on sky other than the A League, the FA Cup, and Champions  League on ESPN, all that for $95 a month :P

I'd happily pay another $100 a year to PLP to secure these 3 events.

Sounds like Al Jazerra sports have rebranded, they offer everything you might want, other than the A-league, sadly.

http://www.en.beinsports.net/

All that content for 13 USD a month. They do have streaming.

It's a bit of a divide you see that the problem as Sky not having premier League, when i see the opposite - Sky have stuff i'd like to watch, but just don't justify paying a stupid amount of money for, for 8-16 hours a month of programming.

Hopefully sky will wake up and start selling streaming only subs, or get forced to drop all their bundled channels in pricing like cable companies are being forced to in the US.

Good god that's a frightening thought. I'd hate to see premier league go back to sky's selection of what games are worth showing.

think premier league pass has been good- just got the mid-year subscription for $100 plus an HDMi cable- they've launched an HD stream and it looks very good on my laptop or on a tv. Keen to see some competition in the sport tv and the PL is perfect for a streaming service.
Think about it- My SKy HD or $100 bucks to watch the games you want when you want...love the convenience, the portability and so far the technical side of things- touch wood- has been very good. It annoys me to see Rattue always harping on about this. I'm sure a lot of this is either the computers or internet connections that could be fixed and nothing to do with PLP. I've had much greater trouble with Sky-go- including it crashing and going 'your content is unavailable' with only ten minutes to go in a Phoenix match. MEGA MEGA irritating.
Still the cricket and A-league on sky is good, but it would be good to see them available as a stand alone streaming package without having to buy basic/My sky etc etc...
Anyway I think the competition is good, hopefully will lead to better outcomes for consumers and if the internet improves it can only get better.
