Heck yes. We need football on free to air, even if it's just NZFC. The kids need exposure to players they can emulate, idolise and learn from. Even those who can't afford Sky or don't have a local big-league team.

That being said, I don't watch TV so the only football I've heard of being on free to air is the occasional All Whites match and Phoenix vs Beckham. So I could be wrong, if so, feel free to throw things at me.

I remember when the NZFC first started up, it was said there would be a highlights show to begin with, then eventually they would show at least one game a week....I was wrong to get my hopes up of that actually happening.

The NZFC definetly needs more exposure on tv...but apart from that i think football is pretty well covered now, except TV one news..

Allegedly

Problems:

No chatham cup final on TV
Only highlights of Auckland teams on WoF
Elrick is an idiot who says "certainly" too many times.  He just starts rambling and makes no sense at all.
up to 6 live games of EPL, plus Spanish, etc a weekend proves there is a market for football in this country.  Show a live NZFC game a weekend as well.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Not having the Chatham Cup final seems incredible given the history of the comp, its coverage of the whole country and its following from all the players and fans that start out in the comp each season

agree with the other points too, Though Elrich grates a little less now

but it is the Chatham Cup decision that really makes a mockery of public service broadcasting

I still havent forgotten that TVNZ Sports news didnt show a single goal from the NZFC 3-2 final - found time for the Menapi red card only

Need at least one NZFC match per weekend. Maybe not live, but it needs to be on.

And I reckon World of Football is good at the moment, sometimes Elrich and de Jong are clueless, but Katsanos is pretty good (without Katsanos they'd be stuffed!).

Are you serious? The guy pronounced Ibrox Ee-brox in the last show FFS. Muppet.

Elrick's useless as well, has the vocabulary of a 2-month old chipmunk. Freddy lacks a bit of personality, but at least he can make some sense.

katsanos may be a muppet when pronouncing ground names but he brings a bit of life to the proceedings - which is much needed!!!

Dennis is alright - he has some enthusiasm which is needed.  He doesn't seem to know a huge amount about football, but doesn't claim to, and doesn't need to as the host of the show.  He does clearly have a real affection for the sport (not sure if you can claim he really 'loves' it) and that is infectious to watch.

Fred seems to know his stuff, but has no personality.  Having said that, he has seemed a bit better recently.

Elrick seems to be caught between two stools - not knowledgeable or intelligent enough to be an expert, and not amusing or charming enough to be a humerous contributor.  He really is the weak link on the show.

Maybe the show needs to be mixed up a bit, with maybe someone like Miles Davis on it (never seen him on TV, so not sure if that is his medium) to provide a bit of humour.

I see TVNZ are now sucking up to the Hockey fans since they dipped out on the Rugby. Shows how they feel about the biggest and most globalist game!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

he used to do the cricket once upon a time, did really well and added a bit of personality to it.

I too forgot the Chat Cup coverage (or lack of)...not a good thing
