The Dom's Fred Woodcock writes "the Phoenix have been out of the headlines for two weeks." Oh really? I'm sure I read the name of the new CEO in one of the Sunday papers last weekend! His name is Phil Alexander and he's the CEO of Crystal Palace at the moment. Wakey wakey Fred!

Cunning observation. The Dompost seem to forget how many people in theis country read football news. Their loss, Planet football and Soccernet do a pretty good job of making up for the gaps in terms of Europe. I just wish the NZ papers had more on the local scene. Ther's bound to be plenty going on in the clubs here and in the A-league . . . .

Freddie deserves a break fellas

He and a few other journos/sports commentators kept the quest for franchise finances in the media throughout Feb and March, and it was that publicity that ultimately stirred our great benefactor, TP, into action. Fred had also talked up the prospects of the Wellington bid when the Aucks were still in the game. In short, he been damn positive and a great advocate for the Phoenix (and the Fever) to date. Long may he keep it up.

As long as you accept that there may be an underlying point to everything they print, particulalry if it involves Sam Malcomson or Danny Hay.
