See, just when you think that Sydney pop up with the idea they
should sign Bridges and Wright...
You can't really blame them for following a proven and successful recipe...
You reckon Glory will go down as the Kingz/Knights have
done? Do they have the money to stay in the league regardless
of form and work on improving? If they do die, will they
ressurect as we have done? If not it takes away a long
flight and delay in coverage for away games which is fine by me
:P
They have big mining dollars invested now, but then (in theory) so did the Knights. I suspect they just need the owners to develop a little more football nouse and knowledge.
Just 6200 turned up for last night's game v Adelaide and watched
another 0-0 draw - Perth's fourth of the season.
They've now had 360 minutes of footy at home and seen one
goal.
Overall this season they've played 630 minutes and scored
twice.
This is getting Knights-esque. I love it!
are you Auckland in disguise?
I have generously donated them the nickname Shambles, seeing as the
Knights fans kind of had official ownership of the title from the
North Shore Shambles.
From here until they sack Smith and Mitchell, and sign more than one decent player, they are the Western Shambles.

So the Knights didn't go belly up last season after all - they just
moved to Western Australia.

whats the next step for perth - mascots on the field, cheerleaders
- loud music at intervals when crowd noise is flagging?
hmmmmmm
I don't think we should be delighting in Perth's current
misfortune. Although they are my most loathed team I wouldn't
wish the Knights experience on any of the teams. The A-league
needs to have eight well supported, well financed, and well run
clubs. While I was very pleased when we did the "Glory" 4-1,
I don't want to see them finish the season like the Knights did in
the first season of the A-league. What would that add to the
competition?
I would have to say that Perth's experience does show up the
folly of using idiotic names like "the Glory". What
Glory? Ditto for the Melbourne "Victory" (5 draws in 7
games). At least the "Phoenix" will continue to be an
accurate name...
I don't think you can just blame it on the name though. The
club were the poster boys for 7 or so seasons of the NSL and the
name caused them no issues then.
What needs to be examined are the political fights over ownership, the incompetent management by the FFA, and the questionable coaching and player appointments.

We'll change our name to the "Melbourne Never-Lose" if we can
squeek past the Inbreds tomorrow night...happy?
