Nice piece on Fred, but I couldn't help but notice similarities with his summaries of past Nix Brazilians and the pieces on them in My LinkThis[/URL]

So we'll take that as a yes from Piney?

Great article Piney.

Interesting fact you raise about being a fan group enjoying a third successive season of finals football (potentially).

How many other teams have managed that?

Assuming we do secure a finals/play-off spot that, according to one true pundit of the game, would be a trophy.  We will need to find a big cabinet at Newtown Park soon to house our third trophy...

This is exactly what a good local media journalist should produce.  Constructively critical, looking for answers, explaining what has been going on and what was inaccurately reported, while still outlining the naivety of those involved that allowed it to happen.  Not needlessly destructive or looking to create/foment scandal for the sake of it, and outlining facts rather than interviewing his typewriter and adding a question mark (eg. Herbert under pressure?).

Great work Piney.

Sums it up nicely. Local journos are crap and are only basically egg ball orientated.
Piney does a great job and this piece is certainly of the highest standard.

Ah, but she was able to change her game-plan (from Shakespearean wannabe to L O T) when she realised she wasn't up to it.

Perhaps he's not blind.  Fenton is a midfielder who has been asked to do the attacking thing and has done bloody well.

The thing I still don't understand - this presentation that RH gave to the board on the future of the club, was that pre-season or did it occur during the season?  If it was pre-season as Gareth and now Piney are indicating - why did he have the meeting that Brockie has referred to in the media mid season after the Morgan interview saying that they would be changing styles?  That just doesn't make any sense to me

Exactly. That why I intimated that Gareth knows more than he says in his blog that he does

Good question. I have just been speculating in the Ownership thread that maybe Ricki was trying to go about it in a more low-key way with the players (having failed to secure better midfield options that Sanchez and Smith in the off-season, and not wanting to scare the horses until he knew he had the personnel to do the job). Then Gareth got excited and forced Ricki's hand. That's actually a pretty plausible scenario if you ask me.

Yeah I agree, that fits in with what we have heard from Piney, Brockie and Gareth, and it ties their 'stories' together really well.

But again, it's only speculation.
