I think the skill level of young players in ZN is finally starting to catch up with the rest of the world. Football is now much more accepted and accessible here. Kids don't have to grow up in Rugby dominated communities anymore if they don't want to. I think that given 20 years or so, Footy could become an even competitor with Rugby here in terms of numbers and maybe even TV coverage.
What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?
I've on been here for eighteen months (still a bloody foreigner) and I was very impressed by the standard of football played by the kiwi youth (& seniors for that matter), so much so that I used to go down Endeavour Park Whitby, to watch every week.
The media & the education authorities will one day realise what amazing talent is being supressed by the old guard.

We could pretend to be "concerned mothers" and make schools ban rugby, so that the good young footballers will stick with football.
